TRIAL CHAPTER :
Fate. Is fate just a word? Or does it have a meaning behind it. Is fate an action, which happens only in movies, or can it happen to regular people like me? What is fate? An act from God, or just a coincidence.. Is fate a good thing or a bad thing? Fate. Funny word, huh?
Me, Harmony.. 14 year old girl of African origin, Short and just generally average.. would the act of "fate" ever happen to me?..
I closed my notepad, and sighed. My best friend Jessica was asleep, my mum and dad were happily chatting at the front of the car, and my sister and her best friend Deborah were being pain in the bums.
"Harmony! Try and sleep! We are not even halfway there yet! As soon as we get there, you are going swimming!" My mum chirped with her African accent.
"No, ma, I don't want to sleep.."
"Fine, whatever! All I know is, you are going swimming. You and Jessica."
I rolled my eyes, and looked out of the window.
I was actually happy that I was going to Haven. Haven is a place where I could have fun, relax and forget about everything negative in my life. I really needed this holiday, and this holiday park is the best place for me.
- Two hours later -
I woke up to an ear piercing scream. My dad stopped the car, and I looked next to me to see chewing gum stuck in Jessica's braces.
The car was silent for a couple of seconds, and then everyone except Jessica and me burst into laughter.
As she got the chewing gum out of her brace, Jessica angrily muttered in Portuguese.
My dad started the car again, still chuckling.
I was still pissed that she woke me up from my sleep. As I got my self comfortable to sleep again, my sister said
"Harmony! Get your fat self up! No point in sleeping, we are here now."
I ignored her, and looked up.
"Haven, here we are" my mum smiled.

"So Harms, what do you think of the caravan?" Jessica said.
Me and Jessica were in our room, unpacking our stuff.
"It's cool.." I muttered.
Jessica sighed, and sat next to me, putting her arm around me.
"Just in one of your moods?" she asked.
I nodded, putting my shades on.
"Ok well we are going swimming now, so get your things, and get your fat Ghanaian ass to that swimming pool!" She smirked.
Heck, even I cracked a little smile.
I got my stuff, said bye to my parents, and we left the caravan.
"Now to find the swimming pool!" Jessica chirped.
We walked..
And walked..
And walked..
Till I got annoyed.
"Jess, let's go home now!" I whined.
It was 3 in the afternoon, and I was hungry and annoyed.
"NOPE! In fact, I'll ask those boys over there if they know, coming?" She asked.
I shook my head, and sat on the bench.
She shrugged, and walked up to a boy with a curly afro.
I looked over, and saw a boy with two long braids staring at her butt.
Boys are such animals!
Another boy beside him was on the phone. He had short, curly hair, and was kinda cute. But whatever. And as I looked at the last boy, I was shocked to see him staring right back at me.
He was actually very attractive.. Muscular, blonde at the tip of his hair. He was very tall. I looked away, and got my shades, and put them on. He copied me. Um, Okay? I saw Jessica skipping back to me, smiling.
"What did you do now?" I sighed.
"WearegoingswimmingwiththemNOWCOME!" she mumbled, screaming the last two words whilst dragging me from the bench.
I rolled my eyes underneath my shades, and put my mean mug on. As we approached the boys, I stood with a big distance separating me and them.
"Guys, this is my friend Harmony! Harmony, this is Jacob, Rayan, Chresanto, and Craig!" She said, pointing at each one of the boys.
I nodded my head, and mumbled
"Sup."
"Dang girl, you fine but you the opposite of your name! All moody and dark, like Craig, but you got that Nicki ass." He mumbled.
Like Craig? I'm real confused.
"Uh Oh..." Jessica whispered.
I walked up to this Rayan kid, and whispered in his ear
"If you say anything about my ass again, I'll personally chop your braids off with my teeth!"
I barged past the other boys, and walked back to my original spot.
"Damn." Rayan said, looking down whilst Jacob and Chresanto laughed at him.
"Haha, let's go..." Jessica laughed nervously.

We were all the Jacuzzi, chilling.
I still kept my shades on, likewise that Craig dude.. Speaking of him, he kept his gaze on me.. At least I thought he did. Jacob and Jessica were in the corner, talking.
Flirting most likely.
Rayan and Chresanto were talking on the other side of the jacuzzi, so that left me and Craig ._.
...
After a while, I got tired of him staring.
"Sup? You got a staring problem? Or?" I asked.
He came closer to me.
"How do you that I'm staring at you, if you not staring at me back?" he smirked.
"Whatever." I scoffed, getting out of the pool.
"Harmony don't go!" Jessica pleaded.
"See you at the caravan." I said bluntly, and walked off without looking back.

You know that feeling you get? When someone is following you? Yup. Feeling that right now. I turnt back to see Craig.
"What do you want?" I scoffed.
