*BTW, I am playing as running back the first and third quarter. The second and fourth quarter, I'm playing corner back.*
"Alright! A team, are you guys ready?" Coach says after he came back over from flipping the coin. "We start off with the ball. Which means we're going to pizza it." Pizza about is one of our plays. It's when center hands the ball to quarter back, and Left corner back acts like he is going to get the ball thrown to him. So that leaves right corner back all open.
"Now, are you ready?" Coach screams. We all just nod. I'm glad coach chose the 'pizza' play. I really didn't want him to start off with 'birdie' or 'sky' play. Because running back is the main person. I didn't want to get stuck in that. I would have done horrible.
We all run out and get into position. Of course being right corner back I had to try to tackle wide receiver before he got to the running back.
I was all in position, waiting for that signal. When suddenly a kid from the other team started to talk. "Aw, Bryan, look. It's a girl!" The kid and the Bryan kid started to laugh. "I will try not to hurt you that much." I wasn't even paying attention to him. So once I hurt the signal I took off.
I put all my force onto him, I pushed him back 6 feet. Then he fell and I looked up, Noah was running towards the touchdown area. I started running towards him. Most of the other team was behind beside one kid. He was catching up to Noah and I couldn't let that happen. I jumped at the kids legs and knocked him down. Everyone started cheering. I get up and Noah just pasted the touchdown line. I jumped up and ran over to him. I slapped his shoulder then everyone came around and was cheering, not only him for scoring us points, but me for knocking that kid down! Number 28, from the other team started walking towards me. I'm pretty sure it was the kid I just tackled.
He rested his hand on my shoulder and spoke, "Nice job, for a girl." I just smiled and ran off the field towards coach. He talked to Noah for a bit. Then told me I did good and to keep up the good work. Ethan came over to me. "Good job!" I smiled, kinda big. "Thanks!"
Coach then sent B team out. I sat next to Ethan and Tyler. They just talked as I watched how good B team was playing and taking small sips of my drink. "We're off to a good start." Tyler spoke really fast. I just look at him. I didn't really feel like saying much.
"A team, you're up." I looked up and noticed B team scored. I was really proud of them. B team doesn't have many good people on it. But I think they're doing very well. Everyone goes out and we get into position. Corner back once again. Same annoying kid, who of course made another joke about me being a girl. I just ignored him and tackled him. I started running towards Tyler, who had multiple people chasing him.
I was in the moment, I was going to tackled this kid, the one closest to him. Until, I trip right over the kid. He tumbled right in front of me. I get off of him quickly I was scared, nobody tackled him. Everyone started chearing. I looked up and Tyler made a touchdown. I wasn't worried about him. I was worried about the kid groaning and grunting right in front of me.
I ask him what's wrong, and he just starts crying. His coach runs over towards us, I stand up and back up. I then bend down on my knee. They couldn't seem to get him up, so his parents ran out onto the field. It go serious so coach called us over to our bench for a talk. Coach then told Mr D to talk to us while he went over and helped the coaches with the hurt kid.
We sat there talking for a while and then we noticed the ambulance came over to them with a stretcher. I was surprised. I didn't think he got hurt that bad. Coach walked back over and told us what happened.
"He twisted his ankle while running and when Brianna fell on him it hurt his knee somehow. He said it wasn't your fault though. It was his fault because he fell in front of you." Coach says looking at me. That made a relief. "So, they'll be taking him off the field then we can get back to our game." Some of us nod. We then just grab our water bottles and take a seat.
