*Beep* *Beep* "aw shut up!" I yell as I smack the off button of my alarm clock.
"Yelling at it to stop isn't really gonna change anything Luke." my sister Jessica says as she enters my room.
"Come on sis it's the weekend why did you set my alarm?" she looks at me quizzically.
"Oh so you don't wanna see mom and dad then." I sit up instantly.
"No I do in fact ill beat you there!" She looks at me head turn slightly left and I launch out of bed.
"I call shower first!" I scream racing towards the showers. She reaches to grab me to no avail. Once I reach the bathroom I look and the mirror and see my blonde hair completely in a mess and dark sags under my storm gray eyes. Before I make my way into the shower I pull on the bathroom window revealing tooth brushes, toothpaste, and my ADHD pills. Plopping one into my mouth and taking a swig of tap water. Once that's over and done with I grog my way into the shower and clean myself up.
Coming out of the shower I felt like a million bucks although I'm pretty sure I smelt a lot better. As soon as I unlocked the door Jess launched in and I backed away instantly.
She turned to me, "Get clothes on i'll be out in a few."
I laughed and winked, "Alright have fun!" making my way towards my room I swing open the wooden door and rush inside grabbing a pair of dark wash jeans and a grey Henley. Moving towards the bathroom.
"Jess hurry up!" I knock on the door.
I hear the water spurt and shuts off.
"Get the car ready Luke!" she shouts.
Alright then rushing down the stairs I'm sure to skip the last three steps. Im not really into the creaking sound it causes.
Keys to the 67 mustang are hidden under the mat, why I have asked the same question but either way. Gotta love that damn car. Musics pump in cars revving all were miss is Jess. Right on cue she comes rushing out of the house her raven black hair up in a ponytail leaving her bangs to hang wearing sneakers, jeans, and a pink t shirt.
See opens the door allowing the music to pour into the neighborhood.
Making her way into the car she states "Crank the music up Luke who are we mom and dad?"
I smile, "Nope but we'll see them soon." Yeah well that is if traffics isn't packed like normal. What I get for living in New York. In no time we end up at the hospital.
I step out of the car as Jess moves closer.
She grabs my hand and whispers," Might as well go in as a family."
I turn my head to her, "Little ironic huh." With that we step into the hospital. Smells of cleanser and the sharp coldness of the room hit me. Overwhelming my nostrils and causing my skin to goose bump.
Jess grips my arm, "A little cold in here isn't it?"
I laugh, "Some people think diseases prosper in warmth that's probably why." Jess starts to respond but it interrupted by the desk lady.
She looks at both of us with a practiced smile, "How may I help you?"
Jess glances up at me, "Uh yes I'm Luke and this is my sister Jess our parents are Maggie and John Bennett, can we see them?"
She starts searching through her notebook dabbing her finger on her tongue, as she's doing this I pay close attention to her to see how she looks, her gray hair was up in a ponytail and her green eyes matched Jessica's.
"Oh yes right here let me check that off for you and here ya go hand these to the nurse and she'll show you where it is." she announces the words tI make yew the nurse across the hallway hears her, and the nurse moves towards us.
I reach to shake her hand, "Thanks have a good day."
The nurse gets to us and clears her throat.
Jessica nudges me, "Uh Luke nurse lady three a clock." I turn to the nurse and see her accompanied by a curly haired boy, both the nurse and the boy had brown hair but the boys eyes were the same storm gray that my eyes bore. He had a weird way of carrying himself, he reminds me of someone.
Jessica nudges me. Noticing that I may have been staring I straighten up,
"Oh umm hello should we show you these?" I say while handing her the passes. She takes the passes and balls them up,
"I hate these stupid things never saw the point in these stupid things. But yes please follow me, I'm Kira and this is Joey Kindle. You two may as well make good you'll be seeing a lot of each other his parents also have The Sickness.
