In The Arms of My Only Love

The clock striked 3 o'clock, and the bell roared like a lion, letting everyone know that that was the end of the day. I tell you what, I haven't had a good day today at all, but I feel like it's just about to get even worse...

Hugging Amanda and wishing her a safe journey home, I hopped into my car, plonking my bag in the passenger seat and paring my phone up to the radio while jamming out to my favourite album of all: Joanne.

After a good half an hour of driving, I arrived at Richard's place. Pulling into the driveway had never been such a daunting experience as I noticed him stood there with a chilling yet sort've calming grin on his face. Nevertheless, I turned the engine off, stepping out with my phone and locking it behind me, walking over to the front door with a genuine smile on my face. My attempt to mask my fear was weak, I could feel it. He didn't seem to really notice though.

"Hello babycakes," Richard flashed one of his usual cheeky winks, "How was your day? Tolerable?"

Striding my way into his home, as if it was my own, I head straight to the front room, dropping myself on his couch, sighing as I watch him follow behind me, sitting himself next to me.

"Just about. It dragged soooo much..." Rolling my eyes as I look over at him, giggling a little.

"I bet you couldn't wait to get here then, eh?" Richard giggled back, with a hint of seriousness in his voice.

I nod and smile, though I laughed internally at how far from the truth he really was. Why do I feel like this? He seems perfectly fine so far?

Suddenly, I felt a warm hand cup my knee, and sure enough, it was him. I watched as he turned the TV on, making me feel welcome as ever (which I was honestly beginning to believe was my kryptonite because it's always that which ends up getting me into trouble - trusting too much). Sinking back into the couch, I cuddle up to his side, resting a hand on his chest as we watch Netflix.

This truly is what dreams are made of...
