While Belle wander through the village greeting some of the villagers of their daily routine. When all of a sudden, a rucus was being heard of that she saw three men who worked at a farm. They scurried down into the village yelling,'THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE WOODS!' and 'IT SCARED US AWAY!'. The villagers all looked at each other as the mayor of the town walked over to the boys that were shook as he tilt his head to the side and placed his hands on the hips glaring at them.
"What're you barnets doing in the forest? You know that we are not prohibited to be going in there when its curse!" The mayor verbalized at them as they twiddle their fingers not making eye contact towards him.
"W-Well we were going to see if the legend was true. Clearly it is sir! Only thing is-what we saw was-"
"A monster!"
"A vicious shadow beast!"
There was whispering going on about this as the mayor stomped on his foot. It made all the villagers silence as the 3 farmers stood very posture to give their attention to the mayor.
"You listen here and listen good. The forest is cursed and we are not allow to go inside of there; who knows what could be in there. For now on, please stay out of there and don't frighten the whole town or worse The Horned King and his queen!" The mayor shivered as they nodded letting the villagers return to their work. Belle on the other hand, was curious and wanted to know what was there to hide from the people.
"Excuse me, sir?" She asked as the mayor turned around and replace a frown with a happy smile.
"Why Belle, how nice of you to be here. What can I do for you?" He asked.
"I asked if you would be so kind to tell me why the forest is cursed? Some say there lived a prince who ruled the other side of the forest and-"
"Oh Belle, there is too much to explain and all of that is a legend. Besides, who would want to know what is inside the forest?"The mayor shrugged and walked off as Belle stood.
'Hm...If i'm ever going to find out what's inside there. I'll have to do it myself.' Belle thought as she planned on going out for tonight.
