You look up to your mother who offers you a pen. "Y/n, I feel you're old enough to meet your soulmate now."

You gasp softly, an excited smile lighting your face. "Really? You think so? How do I talk to them?"

The questions flew from your mouth almost too quick for your mother to understand. She chuckles softly and places a hand on your shoulder, again offering the pen. "Just write. The back of your arm should get their attention."

You nod, taking the pen and dashing to your room to come up with the best greeting your sweet little 7 year old mind could think of. In the end, you give up that endeavor and start with a simple 'hi'. You recap the pen, setting it on your nightstand and nibble on your lower lip. You wait, and what feels like hours later, you see a string of strange markings on your arm. You gasp and run back out to your mother. You show her the markings, hoping she'll know what they mean. She frowns. "Well honey, it looks like your soulmate doesn't speak English."

You feel your heart break, your hopes falling. Your mother sees this and speaks quickly. "Don't worry dear, it just means you'll have to wait a short while before you can talk to them. Languages can be learned." She picks her phone up and takes a picture. "I don't know what this language is, but I can ask a few friends and find out. Would you like to take classes?"

You feel your hopes rise again. "Yes!"

You start bouncing on the balls of your feet, excited at the prospect of learning how to communicate with the person linked to you. Your mother chuckles softly. "Alright, I'll work on setting this up, then."
