As soon as you arrived the room turned in on you albeit, not in a threatening way. Rather in more of an admiring manor. You were glad that the many hours you had spent on looking good for tonight had payed off. It had been a while since you had attended one of these events so all the more effort to look good. Something about the secrecy of a masquerade ball satisfied every inch of your body. It was like living in a fairy tale where there were no pumpkins, mice or ugly step-sisters and the night could last forever. Being here made you realise how much you missed the fancy and fashionable lifestyle. It felt good to be back.

Sweeping your puffy, glamorous dress across the floor, you entered the ballroom and headed straight for the snacks. It had an infinite array of hors d'œuvre spread out across the lengthy table. Reaching straight for the chocolate covered strawberries, you stuff as many as you can fit into your mouth. The strawberries were perfect, just the right amount of sweetness. With this, you hadn't noticed the handsome stranger eyeing you from the other side of the ballroom. Reminiscing in the flavour, you were interrupted from the strawberry-chocolate heaven by a deep, honey-like voice, "You've only been here for a few minutes and already on the snacks? You're my kind of woman." he chuckles.

Realising that you probably look really odd stuffing your mouth, you observe what he looked like, before explaining yourself "the strawberries looked too tempting, besides, someone has to eat them." He nodded in agreement, showing off his jawline. One of your favourite slow songs starts to play by the live band, it makes you smile and sway softly from side to side. Picking up on this, the man beside you transformed from handsome stranger to prince charming with just 5 words "May I have this dance?" Immediately, you accept taking hold of his outstretched hand. It was as if the whole world went quiet when you two came to the middle of the floor. You, the delicate maid. Him, the handsome prince. There was something so picture-perfect about the situation that it almost felt unreal. Once you had gotten into the rhythm, you start to small talk.

The night was seamless.
