You and Michael had been living together for about a year at this point. It was better than you could have ever imagined, and although you missed him dearly when he was at work, you savoured the emptiness of the house and the time you had to yourself. That's how you find yourself in the kitchen, wearing nothing but a thong and one of Michaels t-shirts, baking cookies. Baking relaxed you, and the outcome was always great, so you did it whenever you could.
With your chill-out playlist playing in the background, you danced while you waited on the delicious treats cooking. You turned the volume up as one of your favourite songs began to play. You close your eyes and start to sing and sway to the beat, feeling free, as the song hit close to your heart.
Loving you isn't the right thing to do.
How can I ever change things that I feel?
If I could, baby I'd give you my world.
How can I when you won't take it from me?You can go your own way, go your own way,
You can call it another lonely day.You were so caught up in the song that you hadn't heard the front door open and close. Nor had you noticed your love standing in the doorway, watching you with a loving smile on his face. Michael walked up behind you, startling you as he wrapped his arms around your waist, nuzzling his nose behind your ear.
"Fleetwood Mac? Really?"
You felt a light blush creeping it's way across your cheeks. "Yeah, they're pretty good. They make me feel free," you admitted quietly. You heard him chuckle softly to himself, his breath ghosting over your neck.
"Don't go all Misty Day on me now love."
Feeling more embarrassed by the minute, you pulled away from Michael, turning the music off and going to check on your cookies. Before you could reach the oven though, Michael gently pulled you back by your wrist, making you face him. He rested his forehead against yours and sighed softly, pulling you impossibly close to him. You kept your eyes on his chest as he began to sing to you.
Can you hear me calling out your name?
You know that I'm falling and I don't know what to say.
I'll speak a little louder, I'll even shout.
You know that I'm proud and I can't get the words out.You looked up at him through glassy and awestruck eyes. And as he looked into yours, and finished the words, you knew it was the two of you together, forever.
Oh I, I wanna be with you everywhere.
