*I found this, I had wrote it some months ago. Thought, why not share? **
If you were to look up "friend" in the dictionary, you would probably get a simple explanation that sounds something like this: a person who is on good terms with another, offers assistance. Doesn't sound too nice or special, does it?
A real, true friend is someone to have a good time with, someone to go on an adventure with, someone to bake cookies with. The ability to get along with someone and laugh together is fantastic and special, but true friendship means so much more. A true friend is someone who is willing to listen to you vent about your issues, even if that means video chatting with you at 4a.m. if it'll help you work through your issues. True friends are there to cry with you, to pick you up when you're down, and to sing with you when you're happy. Real friends happily place your needs above their own, because they know you'll do the same. It takes effort and time to build and maintain friendships, and not every one of them will last, but you have to hold on and wait, because one day you will meet your best friend, and they will change your life. They'll always have your back.
Or perhaps you've already met your best friend, and you've simply yet to realise it.
