Ragini Ratner

"Dad, I already have two bodyguards, I don't need more. I want to live like a commoner there!"

I was sitting in the living room with my mom and dad, arguing and even pleading them to let me go. They might be the King and Queen of Rewa Kingdom, but for me they were just like any normal parents Shekhar Ratner and Shomi Ratner.

"But Princess, there will be so much people around. What if you get in the harms way? I can't take the risk."

Ragini knew her father would try to derail her decision. "Then I should stay here and study? Why am I even going there?! If I have to live like a prisoner there too, then I might as well do it in the comfort of my home, right Dad? "

I can't believe he is arguing with me on this bodyguards issue again! We almost 10 times had this conversation and he knows that I am not going to took more than two bodyguards with me. But still he wants to add more security.

Go where you might ask?

It's not the border, neither am I joining the Navy!

All I want is to go to a college where I'm not known to be Princess Rantar. I want to experience a normal life of a commoner! Is that too much to ask?

Can't I live my life like a commoner for once?

I sighed as I looked at his face. His frown and scrunched up eyebrows spoke millions.

"Okay, I'll accept four guards. That too at a safe distance from me." she stood up in determination. "And if I survive without any difficulty for three weeks, you'll call two of them home!"

"Rag-"

"One minute." her mother interrupted. "You really want to go that badly?" she questioned.

"More than anything! I want to experience the feeling of being a ordinary person. I spent half of my life in this Castle. Now, I want to have a little freedom, Until I ca-"

I was rambling in happiness but my mood turned sour when I remembered what's the condition of my freedom.

They arranged my marriage with the Prince of Udaipur. I agreed for the marriage on the condition of 3 years freedom to join a private college. To be able to study like a commoner and to live like average men.

"Alright fine. We agree." agreed my mother, signaling father with a glare to not to oppose.

"Yay! Thank you so much Maa. I'll start packing soon!"

"Don't you think, it will be good if you met the Prince once before you go, Princess Ragini?" fahter piped in.

"Let me settle my career first. Please Papa."

Shekhar could only sign at her reply. "I guess it's a no."

" Your Highness, The plane is ready!" Vyuh my bodyguard said bowing a little.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

I can't help but jump in joy to see the entrance gate of the college.

Finally!

I was walking in excitement towards the college, someone bumped into me.

"Sorry, Sorry!"

A lean boy with dark black specks looked at me apologetically.

"It's alright." I gave him a reassuring smile and he returned it.

I moved forward when he called.

"Ex-excuse me Miss?"

I turned to look at the guy with a quizzical look. "Are you talking to me?"
