I never thought I would need to leave Tennessee. I mean technically I don't, but I want to pursue my dream of become a writer. New York is a lot bigger and louder but at the end of the day I know I need to do this. So that I can pursue my dream, but also for me! In Tennessee I lived with my mother and sister. I never had any privacy because I shared my room with my sister, and a bathroom with my mom and sister! I need time for myself to come out of my shell. I'm 19 and I need to figure out things for myself. So I decided to leave home without anyone knowing. It'll be hard but I'll figure it out.
New York is quite surprising. It's huge and my room is so spread out! My internship starts tomorrow. I know I won't be getting paid but I need to learn the ropes! Since I didn't technically go to college I need to learn my place but I don't think I really have a place! Everyone has something here. Actress, singer, dancer, performer, writer, etc. I know that I'm a writer but I'm not really! Well anyways, I need some sleep so I'll see you in the morning!
Okay wow! They didn't allow me to bring anything else into the office so I couldn't record anything while I was in there so I have to tell you now. They said, and I quote "We can't have a country girl on our crew." Wow, okay so that was not what I was expecting but okay I can handle that.
"No"
"Not right for us"
" Next"
Those are all of the things people have told me when I have gone into interviews or tried an internship. Maybe this wasn't right for me! I mean what did I do wrong? And then it hit me! It wasn't me it was my appearance! I look like I'm from the country with my cowboy boots and my plaid and my low pigtails! I need to look like a person from NewYork! That's all!I went to places all over town and I finally found my look! That's it! That's all I needed! Now I have people lining up at my door. But now u don't want to be in NewYork anymore! So I went home. My mom eagerly welcomed me back in and my sister bought me a computer for my birthday! So I started writing short stories and they all became hits. So I guess for being only 19 I'm doing pretty well!!
