Sparkle Girl

Prologue

  Everyday you saw the girl with a sparkle in her eye. Never frowning or angry. Just an overall sparkle Girl. She seemed perfect! Perfect friends, perfect grades, perfect family, perfect life. But what you didn't see is her friends exclude her and forget she exists until she's convenient. Those grades are constantly putting her through hell and she is still not happy with herself. That perfect family is constantly yelling at each other and instead of feeling loved, she feels hated. Yet, she still sparkles. No one sees the underlying sadness. Nor the cries for help she makes when someone touches her. No one asks. They all expect her to be fine and she is, but soon her sparkle starts to fade. She's exhausted. She can't stand it anymore. Her friends start to leave. They say she is too depressing. Her grads start to drop. Teachers say she doesn't care. No one asks her anything. She's simply been labeled as a depressed kids with nothing good left. You worry. You know now. You know about the sadness, the tears she is refusing to cry, the screams she has kept inside. Yet all you can ask is, "Where'd your sparkle go girl?"
