I was back in my cave, just after nightfall, lightly fingering the army jacket. I wanted to put it on, but... I sigh, resignedly, and pull my arms through the sleeves. It surprises me how light and comfortable it is; now I can see why Leo liked his so mu-
Boom.
I jump up, startled. Now, I don't know about other islands, but normally things don't go boom here on Ogygia. I dashed out of the enterance, hoping against hope. Could he have found a way? If anyone could...
There, in the distance, I saw a tiny plume of smoke. I start, my brow pulling together. The ocean... on fire? The small gray dot slowly grew larger, until it took the shape of a ship. A golden figurehead of a dragon glinted in the moonlight. And there, perched above it on the deck... I'm ashamed to say that my heart might have done a bellyflop off the deep end.
A second later, she could hear him crowing victoriously. I blinked dubiously, sure that I was hallucinating, or that the gods were playing some cruel trick. How could he have made it back? Ogygia had been designed to only let a man visit once... although-- and Leo had said this himself-- he wasn't one for following the rules.
My face finally broke into a smile, though as he neared I smothered it. "Your hair's on fire!" I called to him the moment he was within earshot, my hands cupping my mouth. He cocked his head, confused for a moment, until he glanced up. A snicker escaped my lips as he flailed for a moment in panic before remembering that he had power over fire.
The magic of Ogygia pulled the Argo 2 into the bay much quicker than it would have done on it's own, and Leo jumped off the deck. He landed with a flourishing bow, making me smile again. "I told you I'd be back! Have ya missed me?" He asked, that lopsided, self-assured smirk in it's usual place.
With every second. The words are on the tip of my tongue, but of course I can't say that. Instead, I cross my arms, playfully annoyed. "Great. There goes the peace of my island, again." His grin fades a little, replaced with a brief look of hurt.
I sigh, and pull him into an embrace. "OK, maybe I missed you a little." I ammend, leaning away. More than you could ever imagine.
His smirk returns, though now with the edges of relief. "Good. I was hoping that after five months of hiding this glorious personality from the world to adjust the Argo 2, you'd at least sort of appreciate it."
Five months? It feels like it's been five years! I return his smirk, hands on my hips. "Trust me, I've been doing the world a favour." This time, he doesn't take offense, but simply shrugs. Then, he seems to recognise what I'm wearing.
Leo's grin widens, his hands stilling for just a moment. "Nostalgic much?"
I sigh, already feeling my defenses rise. "I already told you. It's just more practical!" Unfortunately, it would appear that a stupid blush was betraying me.
Leo was just about to reply, when a voice rang out from the Argo 2. "Is it PG enough yet for us to come out, or do we have to wait a few more minutes?" We both jumped, me accidentally landing on his foot. A grimace flashed across his face, mixed with shock. I turn back and forth from Leo to the ship, but it was clear that neither of us had any idea what was happening.
