INU POV:
They say when you are at the point of death your whole life flashes right in front of you and that moment that split moment is where the balance that determines your kind of afterlife. But now that it was my life on the balance I guess things only become clearer when they are put into perspective.
Here I was sacrificing my life on the battlefield giving my life away to protect the one thing that I valued and cherished the most; MY HOME.
Home isn't just all about the place but also about the people and if it was just to save one person from getting hurt and I had to give my life to do it then I will gladly do it. As a ninja we all had our regrets, we are not all bad guys, I mean we all have our secrets but somewhere deep down before the killing and the battles there was once a good person with ordinary ambitions. Shows to prove we are all shaped by our experiences. Doing this though, one thought was constant. 'Would this be enough?'
General POV
Everywhere was chaos, a good portion of the village was in ruins and the shinobi faction seemed worse for wear. Confusion, pain, fear, a lot of troubled emotions going through each individual and it wasn't for naught. The Sandaime was dead, their Anbu captain was also dead and from the looks of it their sacrifices had been in vain. The Kyubi unfazed by the previous attack let out an attack of its own in the form of a bijudama.
Just when it was about to hit and cause even more destruction there was a flashing light and the attack was gone. A huge explosion occurred but it was miles away from Konoha. Just when all hope was gone, it came in form of the yondaime hokage who appeared midair above the Kyubi.
Minato: Kuchiyose no jutsu
With a large puff of smoke a big toad appeared and fell on the Kyubi holding it down
Minato: Gamabunta-san I need you to hold the Kyubi long enough for me to complete the seal.
Gamabunta: you got it kid.
Paint brush in one hand writing seals with a stroke of brush and ink with the precision of a master while performing one handed seals simultaneously.
The kyubi was struggling to get up underneath the huge toad.
Gamabunta: Any time now kid
Minato: I'm almost done Gamabunta-san
He seized his strokes and clasped his hands together.
Minato: Hakke-fuin shiji no jutsu( Death reaper seal technique)
The deathly gale shadowy appearance of the Shinigami appeared with a blade in between its mouth.
Minato: it's time Gamabunta-san.
Throwing several hiraishin kunai around the Kyubi and speeding through handseals after Gamabunta was gone in a puff of smoke.
Before the Kyubi could move the spectral hand of the shinigami shot forward ripping away the yin part of the kyubi and sealing it away in Minato.
After that Minato placed his hands on the seal on Naruto stomach and in a flash the Kyubi was gone.
Minato fairly exhausted after performing such tasking jutsus fell down as the ghostly appearance of the shinigami faded away. He crawled towards Naruto
Minato: I love you son.
Just like that Minato was gone paying the ultimate price for the Hakke-fuin.
Several seconds later some groups of shinobis came around and picked up Naruto and the rest picked up the corpse of Minato heading back to the village to mourn the loss of their hero
Nin 1: who is the kid?
Nin 2: he's cute
Nin 3: he looks like the yondaime, do you think it's his son
Nin 4: But the whole village would be aware if the yondaime had a kid
Nin 2: I doubt that it's barely a day old he must have been born during the crisis.
Nin4: so what was it doing there?
Nin 5: you guys are just over thinking this. The yondaime probably saved the kid and couldn't just drop him off anywhere. The real question is how did the yondaime manage to defeat the kyubi?
Nin 1: let's just get back to the village and report to the council.
