"Finch! Wake up! It's the reaping!" Mellanie yells , standing at the foot of my bed. "Finally!" She says, annoyed. I look around. Why? Why do I keep having that nightmare? Of my Mother dying all over again. Why? "You okay, Finch? You look like your just seen a ghost!" Mel asks.
"I'm fine." I tell her. I pick my dress, white with blue flowers, and put my hair into my usual two buns. "Finch!" I hear Nina yell.
"Nina!" I reply.
"Don't go!" She begs.
"I'm sorry." I say "I have to."
"No!"She moans, defeated. The gong that symbolises the start of the reaping sounds and I hug her close. "We're going to be late, Finch." Mel complains.
"Let me just say goodbye to Michale." I say as my Aunt Ella carries Nina to her room to rest. "Don't go yet!" Michale shouts.
"I need too. I'm so sorry." I say hugging him.

Melanie is avoiding my gaze on purpose. Treana Dilby calls out the name 'Jon Corps' and a beefy looking kid comes and stands beside me. I stand frozen holding back my tears. Melanie is staring at her hand. I'm stood here terrified. I look at her for help but she ignores me.

"You can't go Finch! Please stay! Please !" Nina sobs into my shoulder.
"I'm sorry. I need to go." I tell her, trying not to cry and make her more upset. Michale tells me about how I could get a gun and shoot someone in the head which I can't do but I pretend to listen and care. Melanie cries silently and hugs me and says nothing. My father puts his hand on my shoulder and looks me in the eye then hugs me and whispers "Please try ,Finch." And I nod my head. His tears fall onto my sleeve . Then the peacekeepers come in and Nina screams hysterically for me to stay and all I can do is watch. When the door shuts I sink onto the bed in my room and whisper to myself. "Now I'm a piece in their games."
