After our talk Hunter takes me on a walk around the pack village. We talk with some of the elders and play with the pups. Our walk lasted until dusk as we learn more about each other. We are now sat by a small pond just cuddling.

"Daddy, why didn't my parents try to find me? Why did they leave me alone?" My voice is soft full of sadness. Hunter sighs heavily pulling me into his lap. I look up at him before hugging him tightly.

"Babygirl, they wanted to come get you. They wanted to have you with them but they knew everyone would be in danger. They knew you'd be in danger too," Hunter explains while running his fingers through my hair. I nod my head against his knowing he's right. "I think it's time to start heading back."

"Hunter! We need you now! There's an emergency," Cody comes running into the clearing. I jump letting out a sharp hiss. Hunter growls lowly making Cody bow his head. "The emergency is about Luna."

"What do you mean, Cody?" Hunter growls again, deeper this time. He picks me up off the ground before starting the walk back to the pack house. I hold onto his shirt trying to stay calm and listen to Cody.

"Sam was studying the prophecy more and realized Luna's shift has to happen tonight. It states the kitten shifter must shift on the first full moon after their eighteenth birthday," Cody explains. I suck in a deep breath looking up at Hunter, whose face is stone cold. "If it doesn't happen tonight Luna will never be able to shift."

"Hunter, Emily! Did Cody tell you what's happening? What are you two going to do?" Alice comes rushing to the door. I wiggle down and run over to her. She hugs me tightly rubbing my back soothingly. "It's okay, Emily. If you don't want to do this then that's fine too."

"I have to do this. Hunter isn't going to be happy but I have to. I'm the one that's meant to save the rest of my people. What kind of Luna or protector would I be if I didn't do this?" I tell Alice before hearing a harsh scary growl behind me. "Hunter, I have to do this. You would do it if the show was on the other foot."

"Yes, but I'm also double your size and strength. Emily, you can't do this. You aren't ready," Hunter says walking over to me. I stand my ground knowing where I stand and that he isn't going to change that. He sighs running his hand down his stressed and tired looking face.

"I must do this. I'm the only hope left for my people," My statement comes out in a strong fierce voice. Hunter just stands there looking at me trying to come to terms with my choices. Finally he relents with a heavy sigh and head nod.

"I'm not going to fight with you. If you feel this is something you must do then so be it," I smile at Hunter before giving him a tight hug. He hugs me back rubbing my back softly. "Sam, do you have everything ready for tonight?"

"Yes, Alpha. All we can do now is wait until to moon rises," Sam answers bowing her head slightly. The room is heavy with all kinds of mixed emotions. Hunter keeps me closed to him the whole time Sam restates what she told us when we first found out. "Do you have your circle chosen, Luna?"

"Yes, I do. Alice, Cody, Cole, Mara, you, my parents, and of course Daddy," I state. Two soft gasps sound behind me. I turn to see my mother and father looking at me with tears in their eyes. I run to them hugging them close to me. "I really hope you want to be in my circle and want to be back in my life."

"Of course we do, Baby! We missed you so much. We wanted you with us everyday but we needed to keep you safe," My mom says hugging me. We both cry softly not wanting to let go. It may sound like I'm giving in to easily but I understand that it was to protect me. "Shh, Baby. No more tears. Momma's got you now."

"Papa's here too. Come give your old man a hug," I giggle at my dad before jumping into his arms. He smiles with tears in his eyes kissing my cheeks spinning us around. "I love you so much, Emmy. You know that, right?"

"Yes, I do. I love you and Mom too," I smile more giving my mom a kiss on the cheek. She smiles happily returning the gesture. Hunter chuckles sounding more relaxed. I smile at him waving him over to us. "Come here, Butt head."

"Watch it, Kitten. I'll still get you," He laughs taking me into his arms. I laugh wiggling out of his grip and run to hide behind him. We play around more as the tension defuses in the kitchen. "I'll going to have to tie up up so you hold still."

"Only if you can catch me first," I squeal in laughter as Hunter scoops me up. He sets me on the counter standing in front of me. I look around to realize that the others must have left to go get ready.

"What would you like to eat, Kitty?" Hunter asks opening the fridge. I hop down and grab the nuggets.

"And mac and cheese, please?" I smile sweetly. Hunter nods his head smiling. He leans down giving me a soft kiss making me blush and smile. "Another, Daddy!"

"One more than I have to get dinner started," He kisses me again before getting started on dinner. I watch as his back muscles flex under the thin fabric of his black tee shirt. "Staring is impolite, Cutie Pie."

"I'm not staring, Daddy. Just observing you," I tell him fighting the blush that threatens to spread across my cheeks. He laughs so hard he snorts a little making me laugh. Once dinner is done we sit down to eat.

"Alpha, Luna, it's time," Sam speaks coming into the room.
