I think I know why my heart stops when I see you. I think I know why I feel butterflies when I'm near you. I think I know why I'm always nervous around you.

I think I know why my heart broke when you introduced me to her. I think I know why I felt so sad when you blew me off to be with her. I think I know why it hurt to see you crying. I think I know why I felt so mad when you got back together.

I think I know why I didn't talk to you for two weeks when you didn't believe me when I told you the truth about her. I think I know why it broke my heart to see you go through so much pain when you found out.

I think I know why I was the first to call you that day, even after what you said. I think I know why I got there in five minutes, almost getting pulled over for speeding. I think I know why I cooked for you that day, your favorite, Mac & cheese. I think I know why I watched movies with you and tried to make you smile again with my stupid jokes.

I think I know why I leaned in. I think I know why I kissed you that night. I think I know why I felt so happy when you kissed back. I think I know why I stayed with you that night.

I think I know why I said yes to being yours. I think I know why I stayed with you for so many years, even in the worst of times.

I think I know why I said yes when you asked me to be with you forever. I think I know why I walked down the aisle that day. I think I know why I said, "I do."

I think I know why my heart still stopped when I saw you. I think I know why I felt butterflies when I was near you. I think I know why I was still nervous around you. I think I know why I stayed by your side for so long.

I think I know why it hurt so much to loose you. I think I know why I'm crying right now. I think I know why our daughter stands by our bed, patting my back, trying to soothe me. I think I know why our grandchild sits on the end of the bed, coloring a picture for me.

I think I know why I'm grieving. It's such a beautiful reason, disguised as something horrible.

I don't think anymore. Now, I know I love you.
