*Poppy P.O.V.*I woke up and went to school like normal. When I came home all I wanted to do was lie on the couch and relax. But when I got to the living room the couch was gone. "Aye! Mamí," I called. "Sí, míja," my mom answered. "What happened to the couch," I asked. "Oh it's on the moving truck," she answered. I was shocked, "excuse me. Why is it on a moving van," I asked. "Oh míja, your Papá didn't tell you," she said. "Papá where are you," I shouted while I stomped up the stairs to find him. "Papá," I said angrily when I found him packing up my room, "you better have a good explanation for why we are moving, during the middle of the school year, and not tell me about it!"
"Hermosa, I got a promotion last week, but my new job location is in Lima, Ohio," he said. "Oh, Papá, why didn't you tell me sooner," I asked. "Tu madré was supposed to tell you," he said. "She said you were supposed to tell me," I responded. "Hey but on a bright note, Hermosa, the school you'll be attending is the same school as your cousin Santana," he attempted to assure me. "Yeah, but you're forgetting that Santana is a cheerleader, one of the popular kids. She'll pretend like she doesn't even know me," I said. "Give her a chance míja," Papá said. "Fine. When are we leaving," I asked. "Friday night," Papá said, "we should get there by Saturday afternoon. We will have the weekend to unpack and you will be able to start school Monday, at William McKinley High."
"Alright then where are we staying until Friday," I asked. "We are staying at a hotel until Friday night. Our things will be transported ahead of us," Papá answered. "Which hotel Papá," I asked. "A comfortable one. Don't worry míja," he said. "Ok Papá. What time are we going to the hotel tonight," I said as I pulled out my suitcase to throw in some clothes.
**Later after done traveling and unpacking Saturday**
"Míja, why don't you go say hello to the neighbors with us," my mom said. We went over to the house to our right and as soon as the door opened I heard Beyonce playing. "Oh you must be the new neighbors," the man said. "Yes, we are the Hernandez family," my Papá answered. "I have ason around your age," he said. "I'm Poppy, but most people call me Jackie," I said filling him in. "Please come in stay awhile. I'll go get my son," he said. After he was downstairs for a bit, the music stopped and he came back upstairs. "Hernandez family, this is my son Kurt. Kurt this is the Hernandez family," he introduced. "Hello Kurt," I said. "You look familiar. Have we met," Kurt asked me. "I don't think so. My name is Poppy Jacqueline Hernandez, most people just call me Jackie," I said. "You still look familiar. Do I know a family member," he asked. "You might know my cousin Santana Lopez," I responded. "You're related to a Cheerio," he asked wide eyed. "Yeah but we don't really don't get along that much," I said, so what extra curricular activities does William McKinley High offer?"
"Well there's the usual sports teams, there's peer tutoring, we also have Glee, which I am a proud member of," he said. "I'm sorry, but what is Glee," I asked. "Glee is where we sing short choral works, especially part-songs," he responded. "That sounds like you míja," máma said. "You can sing," Kurt said shocked. "A little," I said. "Well it sounds like you'll have to join Glee club Monday," Kurt said. "Will I have to audition," I asked. "Absolutely not. But you will want to sing something if you want everyone else to accept you," he said. "Then I guess I better figure out what song I'm going to wow them with," I said. "I think we are going to be really good friends," he said. "Best friends," I asked grinning. Kurt also grinned, we continued to chat for a while longer. Later when it was dark out, "we better get back home," Pápa said. "Oh yeah, you must be exhausted from traveling," Kurt's dad said.
**Monday**
I woke up early and my parents took me to school. We went to the principal's office to get my schedule and my guide. "Who is going to show me around the school," I asked the principal. "The head of the welcoming community, Rachel Berry," he said, "and here she is." I turn around and see a girl with brown hair and a confidence about here walking into the office. "Hello you must be Poppy," she said. "Oh please, call me Jackie," I said. "Let's see where you're going," she said taking a look at my schedule, "oh, it looks like we have two classes together. I'll show you where your othe three classes are before school starts."
We walked through the school and we kept on getting looks. "Umm. Rachel is it," I said. "Yes dear," she said. What's everyone looking at," I asked. "You," she answered simply. "What why," I asked. "Well for one you're new. And for two look at you, you are one fine looking girl," she said. "Hey Rach, who's the new girl," some really tall guy said. "Oh, Finn this is Jackie. Jackie this is my friend Finn," Rachel said. "Have you told Jackie about our extra curricular activities yet," Another guy said. "No I have not Puck," Rachel said. "Then allow me,"Puck began scooting closer but I interrupted. "No need. Kurt already did," I said, "I've decided to join Glee club." They looked shocked.
"What," I asked. "You just don't seem like the type that sings," another voice said. "Hey guys lets give her a shot. Maybe she's got a big voice in that little body," Puck said. "Puck ease off the throttle a bit," that voice again. "Well look at her, Mercedes," Puck defended. "You were showing me my classes. Fue muy agradable conocerlos a todos," I said. "What did she say," Finn said from behind me. "She said 'it was very nice meeting you all'. You would know that if you paid attention in spanish class," someone said. I turned around and saw that it was Santana.
