It's 05.00 am.
I can tell.
Staying up all night will make you aware of time.
Now, i'm on the way to my bed pretending that i'm sleeping. The reason i don't get caught this night, it's because i put my pillow under my blanket.
Haha... Smart right?.
I was about to lay on the bed, but then i saw Emma suddenly jolted up from her bed, while having a pale face.
Quickly, I run to her side, sitting on the edge of the bed and calming her down.
"Emma are you good? It's nightmare isn't?" I asked calmly. Suddenly, she hug me tightly. I pat her back.
"Eri, what should i do? I'm scared...." She let go her hand of me, and stare at me.
"Emma, i know you scared. After seeing things like that. But this morning, you Can't show your fear or Mama Will suspicious at us. Smile....smile Emma, like you always do." I said tried to support her. She only nodded.
" Eri... Do you sleep this night?" She suddenly asked with a worried face.
"Why do you ask?" I asked confused, i don't want all of them know that i stayed all night to study that book.
"Because you have eye bags," shoot. "You look like panda in the books heh," She giggles.
"Oh, this? I just Can't sleep well". I tried my best to lie.
"Ah, they're gonna wake in any minute, prepare yourself, Emma." She nodded.
I've already arrived at the dining hall. I felt someone wrapping their arms around my waist.
"Good mooorniing!". Phil was hugging me while he greet me.
"Hey Phil! Stop running!"Gilda Shout from their room.
"Morning Phil, Gilda."
"Eri! Can you teach me how to sketch?" Phil asked.
"What all of the sudden??" I asked in surprised.
"I just realized that can gigih a good memories for us all. I mean, you always sketch our family when they gonna ship out. And you sketch them for a good memories right?". There was an awkward for a second then, i don't know something got into me. I smiled. But fake one...
Phil looking at me shocked. "Okay, i'll teach you. But after breakfast okay?". "Okay". Phil answer and hold my hand and we begin walked to the dining room. And from there, i looked mama, who's smile fakely to Mark. "Good morning Emma!". I heard Norman voice greeting Emma who's just enter the dining hall. "Oh, good morning Norman and Eri!!". Emma greet me, i just nodded. Everything just going fine as the usual routine.
While Emma and Norman discussing their plan on the forest, i was teaching Phil how to sketch. Phil was good enough following my instructions. "Now, you can sketch by yourself. And you can be my replacement one day when i already ship out". I said, without realizing what i said."But, i don't want you to go Eri...". I looked at him on surprised. "Why is that?"." Because you care about us, you're true kind person. Although you Can't show your true expression to us all, you show it through action.". He looked at me." That's why..." . "Thanks..... I really appreciate that..." Is all i can said. He then nodded. "I think i need to go now". i said to him while wave my hand. I was running to the direction of Emma and Norman, while thinking about what just Phil said to me.' am i.. really good enough for that?...'.
I finally reached my destination. "Hey, did i Miss something?". I asked them. "Right on time Eri, we're just about to check what behind this fence.". Emma said to me. I nodded. "Let's go then". Then we're running straight. Then we see.... A wall. I see Emma was climbing a tree. " How is it? Can you see anything from up there?" Norman asked her, while i was below her. To catch her of she fall." Nothing! Just that this wall is about 2-3 meters wide". She answer while she climbing down from the tree.
While hearing their conversation, i was touching the wall. ' it's cold' i thought, until i heard Norman and Emma said " we'll be able to get over this wall" Norman said, "next up is finding the rope" Emma continued. " I think we should go back right now" i said, looked at them. They nodded, and then we're running to the house. We just arrived and i heard Gilda said two of us are missing. Then i heard Mark screamed that he lost Nayla and Can't find her anywhere. Mama then pull out her clock, and looked at it a second, then on her pocket again.
" Don't worry. everyone stay put, do you hear me?". Mama said. Then she went to the forest to find Nayla. In a second, she already come back with Nayla in her hand. I already think about it. "It's not a clock, it's a transmitter. No wonder, she always found us in hide and seek" i said bluntly, still with poker face. "Yeah..." They said, shocked. " Maybe mama is try to say ' no matter who you might be, you won't escape', it's a declaration of war" i said, whispered.
It's night. Now, i'm heading to the library. Of course to continue reading the books. Without anyone knowing of course. I arrived, and said " time to work again". Well, you see, i've been doing these for my family. I won't let them died like Conny.
