it's not that seulgi misses jaebum... but life is much less fun without him. she hates to admit it, but she thinks breaking up with him was a mistake especially on lonely nights she had too much to drink. a drunk seulgi equates a frisky seulgi. and out of everyone she's been with, jaebum satisfied her the most.

sexually at least.

everywhere else, they aren't nearly as compatible.

jaebum is too intense but too detached; he has an easily triggered temper that lasts for about five seconds. on the other hand, she's carefree but passionate; her anger is a slowburn that dissolves even slower. their friends said they're two sides of the same coin. alike but contrasting. so, it makes sense why they butt heads or why they did. past tense now because they're no longer together.

and jaebum has a new girlfriend: hyeri. she's cute, seulgi guesses. very friendly and outspoken. joy doesn't like her, says she's too blunt and not in an endearing way either.

spying on them at the club from her bar, seulgi snorts before finishing her fourth bottle of beer. hyeri is yelling at him on the dance-floor, veins on her neck popping. if the music isn't so loud, she can probably hear all the curses and swears. she wonders what the fight is about, assumes it has everything to do with jaebum's transparent disinterest. moments ago, hyeri literally dragged him to dance, but he isn't have any of that, choosing to scratch at his nape rather than involving himself with her.

so very different than when they clubbed together. jaebum's hands were always on her. touching, groping. he didn't let anyone get too close. her exposed skin shivers, remembering where his palms fit so well. she rubbed at her arms, trying to relive everything. nothing; seulgi pouted and sighed, rested her cheek in her palm and glanced from the sight.

"hey, do you want to dance?" someone asks, offering his hand as if she said yes.

"nope."

"oh, c'mon. you're wasting your beauty sitting here by yourself," he insists, reaching for her hand wrapped around an empty bottle of beer.

she's about to slap it away when a large body gets in the way. seulgi peers up, outlines the figure's shoulders and smirks when she realizes it's only jaebum.

"she said no," he says low and intimidating.

the guy gets the message, backing away with surrendering hands over his chest. "sorry, man. had no idea she was taken. i meant no harm." frightened and ashamed, he leaves them be.

crossing her legs, seulgi adjusts herself on the stool as jaebum settles on the one next to her. she blinks slowly, taking him all in. a few months passed since she last laid eyes on him. physically, nothing much changed. he still dons that overconfident smile of his: boyish yet offensive. his hair is a touch longer, falling over his eyes, and he appears to have lost some weight.

"aren't you a sight for sore eyes," she greets.

jaebum brushes his fringe back, baring his forehead enough to arch a brow at her. "flattering me, huh?"

disregarding personal space because she never had any with him in the first place, she touches his cheek, caresses it for a second and traces the shape of his facial structure. "you lost weight. are you on that horrible diet again that's not really a diet, but you starving yourself to the last minute?"

he jerks away, nose wrinkling. "would you believe me if i say i'm working out?"

seulgi laughs a bit too loud that he furrows his brows, insulted. "no! you're bad at anything athletic. remember when you almost fainted jogging?"
