Ella and Miranda worked extensively to finish all the rooms assigned to them by Mr. Thomas. Ella and Miranda arrived at their last room with joy; that was until they opened the door and looked inside the hotel room. The room was a complete mess, it was like a tornado hit the place. Ella's eyes widened as she looked around the hotel room. There was food all over the tables and floor of the room as well as a tower of empty and half-filled wine glasses on the dining table. Clothes were thrown all over the bedroom and closet. The bed was a wreck with about a dozen pairs of female and male underwear. It was like a teenager borrowed the room for a night. However, the maids had not seen the worst of it, until they saw the bathroom. All the towels were soaking wet and were scattered across the floor to cover up vomit spills. The bathtub was overflowing with red water and stained with some sort of yellow substance on the side of it. The sink was clogged and was also overflowing.

"What the heck happened here?" asked Ella as she exited the bathroom. " I don't know but it is going to take us forever to clean this room and I'm so hungry,"  said Miranda as she touched her growling stomach. "I am too but if we clean this room quick enough we can be out of here in no time", explained Ella. " Well, I hope whatever fun activities that were going on in here last night were worth the mess," complained Miranda as the two maids prepared for the hard work ahead of them.

The two maids gave each other an encouraging nod and started their work. Ella took half of the room and the other half was assigned to Miranda to try to make the cleaning go faster. As the maids cleaned, their stomachs began to growl more and more. "I hate being a maid sometimes. We don't get paid enough to do this crap." Yelled Miranda as she began to clean the bathroom. "We just have to deal with what life gives us and keep moving forward with our heads held high. Knowing that things will turn around eventually." Ella explained.

After two hours of hard work, the maids had finally finished cleaning. The room looked as if it was never a mess, to begin with. "I am so glad that is over. Now we can eat," explained Miranda with joy in her voice. The two maids took their cart full of cleaning supplies and headed for the elevator. Once the elevator reached the lobby they rushed to put all their equipment away and were just a few steps away from clocking out but were stopped by their cruel assistant manager, Lilith. Lilith is a 40-year-old with short blond hair with brown eyes. Whenever she isn't working she will always be smoking and harassing people. She is a person who craves power and will abuse that power in any way she can to make people feel insignificant compared to her. When she isn't around the maids like to call her Cruella.

"What the hell are you two doing?" Questioned Lilith as she gave them a death stare. "We just finished our assigned rooms and are going on to lunch" explained Miranda. "Like hell you are. There are still rooms on the VIP floor that haven't been done and you are going to do them." "

The other rooms were assigned to Alex and Sara. Why should we do their jobs?" Questioned Ella. "Because I like them more than you and they don't give me sass. Unlike you two they know their place and if you have a problem with that you can quit!" Yelled Lilith. "How can you treat us this way?" asked Miranda as she got up close and personal with Lilith.

"It's simple really, because I can and it amuses me to see you two suffer" explained Lilith as an evil grin spread across her face. Miranda and Ella became infuriated by the way they were being treated. No one else in the hotel has ever been treated as horribly as they have. They stood there for a few minutes staring at Lilith with hateful glares until Ella broke the silence. "Fine. We will do these damn rooms, but so you know. I'm  not doing it for you. I'm doing this for my daughter. The only reason I come to work and deal with your crap is so I can support my daughter and give her a chance in life!" Yelled Ella as she walked past Lilith and to the elevator. " You know what, you're not even worth it," said Miranda as she followed her friend and headed to the VIP floor. Lilith turned around to meet the maids' glares. "Have fun," said Lilith as the elevator door closed in front of the maids.

After another two hours had passed the maids had finally finished cleaning the rooms that Lilith told them to. They headed for the maid's lobby to clock out and change into the maid's dressing room. After Ella finished changing she was wearing dark blue jeans, a white undershirt with a navy blue double-breasted coat, and black boots with heels to top it off. While Miranda was wearing a white sweater with a blue scarf and light blue jeans and small brown boots. Ella and Miranda quickly hung up their uniforms and walked toward the hotel's exit.

Together the two maids walked to their cars, and as Miranda opens her car door she turns to Ella with a puzzled look on her face. "Where should we go to lunch?" Ella paused and looked around. After a few seconds of thinking, Ella looked at Miranda with a smile on her face. "We should go to that new cafe that just opened down the street. I heard that it's really good and I've wanted to go ever since I heard about it. It's called My Own Brew."

"That sounds good. Let's get going!" Ella and Miranda got into their cars and started to drive to the new cafe, not knowing that in the next hour, their lives were going to change forever.
