The Blood Gene

The Blades-Sophia's POV

Greyson called Stella and told her where he was. She wanted to go meet the society of vampire hunters. Gage and I wanted to go with her to make sure she didn't get jumped and killed. I went to get Ella first before going to Stella's. She was at Deanton's vet.

I walked in and heard Ella talking to Deanton. Gage stayed in the car. I went into the room where they were talking. They instantly stopped and I was confused why.

"Are you ready to go Ella?"
"Yea let me just get something from my car." Ella said.

She grabbed a bag and then came to my car. Gage said hi and we drove to get Stella. Stella hopped in and we drove to the location that Greyson told us to meet him at. It was an abandoned warehouse looking thing. I walked up to the door and it was locked. I tried to knock, but nothing happened. I banged louder. Eventually someone walked to the door. The person was short and had brown hair and was very pretty.

"What do you want?" She said sternly.
"Greyson told us that this is a place where vampire hunters live and work." Stella explained to the girl.
"Are any of you vamps." She was looking very intensely at Gage.
"No we aren't," Ella quickly replied.
"Ok then come in and be quiet. My family doesn't want more people in this warehouse. We have recently added a bunch of new members." The girl said. "Oh and my name is Poppy."
"Well nice to meet you." Gage held out his hand. They shook hands and we all walked inside. Stella watched this and I could tell she was kinda jealous, but I don't want to get into that.

The warehouse was packed with supplies and people. I walked past people on computers and systems searching for  vampire murder sites I'm just assuming. Poppy brought us to a big open room with a bunch chairs. There is a huge stage in the middle of the room. She brought us to a group of people talking around a small table on the stage. They were the leaders of the Blades. This guy Ryland walked up behind us and went to the guy in the middle. He was probably the leader. Then he looked around and saw us.

"Hey newbies, Poppy have you gave them the tour." He seemed like he's nice. Ella started to stare at the new guy. I looked at her and she saw me and looked down instantly.
"No Ryland be quiet. I'm not supposed to bring in anymore people you know that." Poppy snipped at Ryland.
"Pops you need to break some rules now and then!" I wondered if they were dating or not. I knew all of us were wondering it.
"Are you two a thing." I finally asked for the whole group.
"No no no we are just best friends and I've known Pops for my whole life." Ryland was smiling and laughing.

Ella and Gage both looked up when he said that and were smiling very slightly. I don't think Ryland or Poppy saw them. They brought us to a bunker thing and told us that this is where everyone sleeps and lives and stuff.

"Stella!" I heard Greyson come running up and he hugged Stella. Avery and the one girl Savanna came with him. Ella gave Avery a hug.
"Do you know these people, Avery?" Ryland asked her.
"Yea they were my brother's friends. They weren't really mine."

I could tell everyone was a little hurt by that. I was for sure. Ryland and Poppy both looked at each other confused.

"Avery, Ayden is a vampire now and we don't know how to help him." Ella and Stella explained to her the situation.
"I can go help him, but I can't come back forever. I have to leave again." She seemed much more comfortable with being alone.
"Okay fine, but your brother is definitely struggling right now." Stella said angrily.
"I know I was there at one point. Being a vampire is difficult in the beginning. If he's like me he will be feeling the blood lust way more than most people." She got concerned all of a sudden. "We need to get to him now."
"Why!?" Everyone said.
"He's going to go on a killing spree. I did." She yelled loudly.

Ryland looked at Poppy with a weird facial expression.
"You said you haven't killed anyone," Ryland was looking at Avery.
"Well I lied and your friend knew so if you want to be mad at someone be mad at her." Avery was being rude to everyone. Avery ran out of the room and grabbed her bag and Savanna followed. Gage, Stella, and Ella followed them. Greyson tried, but I told him to stay here and learn more about the Blades. I followed everyone and Ryland and Poppy followed me.

"You two know you don't have to come with us, this is our problem." I told them.
"I mean our job is to take care of vampire problems." Poppy said to me with a like you should know that facial expression.
"Okay, I guess we might need the help."

We all drove to the apartment. Avery and Savanna were just running and they were going to beat us there. I got out of the car quickly and Stella and Ella were up to the apartment first. I saw Avery with Ayden and Savanna. I couldn't hear them. I saw Savanna open a window and then she disappeared. Ayden was right after her.

"I'm sorry, I can't let another vampire die especially my brother." Avery said to the group. Then she was gone.
