Cheshire Grin (OUAT Mad Hatter Love Story)

Forgivness...

I ran out of the small diner as fast as I could. My long hair swaying in the wind behind me. I could hear my name being called but that didnt matter to me. He heard it. All of it. I finally found him and now he would hate me forever. I will never see grace again. The thought of never seeing the sweet child brought tears to my eyes. I ran to the woods and found a small clearing and sat down. All of this thinking got me a bit dizzy so I climbed the nearest tree and lay down on a long branch. I dont know when it was but I fell asleep after that. By the time I woke up it was about midday. I remembered that there was a meeting  at the town hall and everybody should be there. I know what I must do. These people need to understand that I have changed. Im not the same cheshire cat I used to be.I jumped down from the tree and slowly made my way to the town hall. The second somebody saw me the insalts started fireing. I kept my head down and walked up to the small stage that was set up. Everybody slowly started to get quiter bit by bit. I stood infront of everybody and got down on my knees. I put my hands on the back of my head. Emma walked up to me. " What are you doing here? Are you letting yourself be caught?" she asked me. I nodded my head yes. Everybody in the crowd looked at me with confusion clear in their eyes. I only looked at one face. " I broke a lot of laws back in wonderland and the enchanted forest. I have several people after me. Im wanted in every dimension and land I went to. You got to arrest me, yeah? Its only fair." I said sniffing a bit. " But why though? Your alot faster then me. You couldve ran but instead you surrendered. Why?" She asked me. I held my head up high wear people could see my face. My face is strong without a trace of fear in it but anybody could see that I was terrified by the single tear that shed. I spoke in a loud and clear voice. "I'm dying..." A gasp was heard from the entire crowd. " A long time ago The red queen poisened me. The blue fairy treated me as best as she could but not all the way. Everyday I wake up in terrible pain and I cough up..." I had to stop because I had another coughing fit. "Blood. Its to late for me to be saved but I want to make right all the wrong I did. Im so sorry. So so sorry. So please arrest me Emma. I cant think of much else to do to make things a little better." I said as I out my hands back on my head. Henry ran forward from the crowd and started yelling to us. " It can't end like this. Thats not how the story ends. Good always wins. What about Jefferson? What about Grace? You can't just leave them now! You just found them." He ended in a whisper. " Im sorry Henery but like I said its to late..." Emma put handcuffs on me and took me to the sherriffs office and sat me in a cell. I looked out the small window and stared into the clouds. "Im so sorry Hatter but I couldn't fight it. I don't want to die knowing I did so many awful things without forgivness. Grace, my little Gracie, I hope you know how much you meant to me. Im so sorry. Im so sorry. Im so sorry..." I said. " You are one hundered timesforgiven." I looked up to see jefferson and Grace holding hands in front of the cell. Behind them was a majority of the towns people.
