Blaze was sitting in the community hockey arena. The air was cold, the seats were frozen and everyone's breath fogged out in front of them as they cheered on their son, daughter, grandson or niece. Her old worn leather combat boots with the laces left untied kept her feet warm although they had some rips and tears. Her favourite pair of light wash skinny jeans had the knees ripped out from being worn so many times but she wasn't cold. She was never cold. The heaters that hung from the ceiling were turned on and hummed as the small flames caught the coals that kept the others warm. Blaze's hazel eyes looked up at the heaters and a smile pulled on her lips.

"It's so cold in here, the ice is gonna' freeze!" An older man with white hair joked as he breathed into his hands to keep himself warm. The woman he was talking to, who Blaze assumed was his daughter, laughed and nodded in agreement; sipping a Tim Horton's cup of steaming coffee.

The red headed girl looked up at the heaters and her eyes turned as fiery red as her hair. The flames in the small heaters burned hotter; giving everyone the warmth they wanted.

The old man smiled, "Wow I guess there is a God eh?" he said and the woman laughed with a nod again.

Blaze's eyes returned to their usual stunning hazel colour as she got up. She walked down the stairs of the bleachers and walked around the rink; watching the players skate their hardest after the puck. As she walked out of the arena, she heard the cheers and cries indicating that a goal had been made. Blaze smiled and put her hands in the pockets of her leather jacket.

"Blaze McColl?" A deep and mysterious yet familiar voice came from behind her.

Blaze turned around to meet the man who addressed her; his purple eyes shining brightly. "That's my name." she replied, "Let me guess, you're here to tell me to 'watch my back’?" she asked with a bored tone.

The brown haired twenty year old chuckled sarcastically, "Always been a joker, Blaze." he said to the spicy eight teen year old.

Blaze raised a brow, "And you've always been a creep, Aslan." she said dryly.

Aslan smirked as he snapped his fingers and a purple flame rose from his palm. "You need to start taking my advice" he said with a sly tone.

Blaze's eyes slowly turned red, "Actually," she pulled her hands out of her pockets, "I have."  Before the man could reply Blaze had thrown a sphere of flames directly at Aslan's chest; sending him flying backwards into a snowy dumpster that was sitting a few hundred feet away.

Blaze didn't give him time to get up and fight back. She took off at a full speed run down the street; her fiery hair flaming behind her in the wind. Her ruby eyes stayed red. The snow on the sidewalks made it hard to run for any NORMAL person to run but it was a piece of cake for Blaze. The bottoms of Blaze's feet were red and hot; melting the ice and snow that lay on the side walk so she could run her fastest.

Back at the arena, the man got up and brushed himself off. He smirked as he watched the trail of foot prints Blaze had left, "I love it when they run."

A taller guy, around six foot three was walking down the street. The snow was cold on his feet and was leaking through his worn out Converse. The hat he wore was black and hung off the back of his head; it was how all the hipsters were wearing them these days. This nine teen year old had his hands in his pockets trying to keep warm as the chilling Canadian air brushed against his face and pushing back his chocolate brown hair. He squinted as he looked ahead of him, he could see a red headed girl coming towards him. He blinked and adjusted his thick framed black Ray Ban glasses but before he could get out of her way she had ran right into him.

The two fell into the snow; Blaze's abnormally warm body fell onto the stranger's and he stared at her.

"Sorry." Blaze said as she did everything in her power to not make eye contact. She rolled off of him, the snow melting as she landed in it.
