Jalender sat across from the ancient Vampire as she looked at him as if he had four heads.
'' A witch?" she asked. After the altercation with the witch that Jalender burned to ashes, Elijah decided to take her to a diner and explained everything to the confused girl.
"Not exactly a witch, but I guess you can say that." Elijah said as he sipped his tea. Jalender was in a state of shock that Elijah could imagine. He understood how she was feeling and not only that but can hear her thoughts as well.
"Whatever it is or what this is, I don't want any part of it. I already have enough shit going on as it is." Jal said as she ate her last onion ring and gather her things.
"And where exactly are you going? I hope you are aware of what happened tonight, and there are plenty of more witches on your trail."
It was true. It wouldn't have take long for the witches to know she's here, especially with the force and energy Jalender possessed, But Jalender didn't know and she didn't understand. She couldn't face the fact of what was going on.
That vampires were in fact real.
That witches were also real.
That she is a all knowing queen of all supernatural things. That she is life and death, war and peace, in human form.
" I do understand the confusion you are feeling Jalender, but if a witch's attack was not enough for you, look at this for yourself." Elijah said pulling out an old picture. He carefully slid it across the table to her. It was an old picture of a beautiful woman with a strong face.
It was indeed her. Dressed in warrior clothing and a crown full of gems. Jalender picked up the picture and examined it. Elijah waited for her response, but the young girl was lost for words.
"This was taken way before your time. I have witness her and her force myself. The power that she had, so powerful that words can not be enough to describe it. Beauty and grace. A very caring being, but do not challenge her." Elijah chuckled as he remembered Jalender's past being.
"Power in the tongue, literally. Anything she had wished or made a prophecy of came true. When the witches didn't like the fact that she sided with vampires, Voodoo priests and priestess, root doctors and witches joined forces to bring her down. It worked and burned her alive."
"Sheesh." Jalender said with worry. If the witches back then did that to her in her past life, then she could only imagine what they would do to her if they catch her now.
"Before burning her, she stated that she will return more powerful and stronger than ever before. Death shall come and it was her decision whether to doom the world or make it peaceful." Elijah said before he sipped his tea and eyed the girl in front of him. She looked scared and pale.
"That's why when I found out, I made it my duty to help you and train you, to make sure you choose the right path and make the world a better place." Elijah knew that if lefted in the wring hands meant ultimate war and doom.
"Why me?" Jalender asked. Jalender had enough on her plate already. Working job to job to pay rent for a townhouse that wasn't even worth the price and now she has to hide from a bunch of witches that want her dead.
"Simple. It's fate. It has been prophesied that the queen shall return and take what is hers. Religious figures look up to you, people have awaited for you like an arisen savior. It is you, all of this is you. The world is in your hands. I know it is allot for you to handle at the moment, but I will be here every step to protect you and guide you." Elijah stated.
"How do I know you're not after me either?" Jalender asked.
"I risked my life to protect you from a witch, didn't I?" Elijah grinned as he took a sip of his tea. Jalender rolled her eyes. He did help save her, but he was still a vampire. He is still a dangerous stranger.
"Well if you are gonna guide and train me then we might as well get to know each other. Lets start be telling me who exactly are you." Jalender said as she placed her elbow on the table.
"Elijah Mikaleson, an Original vampire. I have walked this earth for millennials. I live to bring peace and protection to my family at all cost and at the moment I would like to be drinking Scotch instead of this chamomile tea." Elijah said as he placed the mug down and leaned closer to Jalender. " I believe it is your turn now."
Jalender didn't know where to start. Still trying to comprehend everything Elijah has told her and trying to figure out how old he was to still look incredibly young and handsome.
"For starters, you can call me Jal. I work in a shitty bar and harassed every night by drunken men. I lived in the city for a couple of years now taking care of my grandmother and apparently I'm some sort of super witch that can save the world from its doom. I think my story beats yours by a milestone." Jalender smirked as Elijah chuckled.
The vampire was glad that the girl lighten up a bit. He couldn't help, but noticed how beautiful she was, even more than before when in the past life they both shared.
Even though Jalender told him her story, he knows more about her than what she thinks or what she wanted him to know .
Observing her for weeks has informed him that she's actually a lonely girl. Working pay check to pay check, and then repeat. Continuously taking care of her grandmother, while still trying to find out who her parents are.
Jalender was truly a piece of work and more complicated from her old self.
"What?" The girl asked when she noticed that Elijah was staring at her in admiration. Elijah shook his head as Jalender smiled at him. She was going to be a lot of work to get her to know her true self, but the original vampire seen potential in the girl.
"Let's start training."
