A warm luminous glow slowly began to erupt from the tightly packed buildings of the Resident District. The sun was just breaking the purple sky and changing the color to a deep orange and red image. A ways away from most buildings trash had piled its way to look as if it was touching that breaking sky.
The only sound here was a soft crunching of dirt and small trotting footsteps following behind. Boot prints that had been there the previous day were washed away and a soft mud now crawled into the roots of dust surrounding the area.
Those boots were white, leading up to the owners yellow scarf, and showed a mans face. Two moles dotted under the corner of his mouth while white hair lazily formed his head. A small dog, or Allmate, with dark blue fur trotted to keep up with the mans gait. They had grown close ever since the "thing" happened.
As these two began to approach the site, a hill, trash started to die away to green. Not being able to wait, the small dog sprinted off in the direction they were headed. "Ren-" he called out to the dog but gave up in trying. His own throat hurt with tension.
Swallowing a lump in his throat, he raised his feet higher to climb up this hill careful not to slip on the glimmering grass under his feet. When reaching the top a small choking sound reached his throat as he saw the dog mourning over the stone wedged into the dirt. Seeing an Allmate doing this was quite new, but then again Ren was a bit different anyway.
Slowly walking towards the stone he placed a hand on it and looked over at the scene in front of him. The scenery was quite nice, lush green trees with the sun rising over a sea of gold and blue. He had come here a lot with the person buried here.
"Good morning, Aoba-san," he couldn't control his voice very well.
"Ren and I came to visit. We would have come sooner, but we couldn't take the shock from what had happened." Ren's ears twitched and he placed his forehead on the stone.
"I hope you've seen Granny up there. Is it nice? I hope it is Aoba-san." There was silence for a few moments.
"Clear, you can stop," a deep voice aroused from the Allmate beside him. Clear simply nodded and stared off into the distance beginning to remember what Aoba had told him.
"If I die, keep going. Don't let my death stop you from moving on."
A sob reached through his throat. Ren didn't really acknowledge him, to caught up in his own thoughts.
"Yes, I will die before you, but just forget about me if you have to."
He wouldn't, no he couldn't forget Aoba. There's no possible way. More memories, happier ones, invaded his mind. Clear didn't even notice a wet streak that was weakly forming.
"I'll see you again Aoba-san. One day."
