Aria
I took a few minutes just to read and re-read over the message that I received. Repeatedly. I was going insane, the message repeating in my mind. But I couldn't figure out how this was real. How could someone even find out my phone number and address like this? He made it look like an easy job.Unknown number: Hey, did you get your notebook?
So this person, whoever he was, got on the same bus as me and now he has my phone number and my address. How does a girl who lives alone even react to a situation like this?
Reluctantly, I slowly began typing out a reply.
Aria: Yeah, thank you. But how did you get my number? Or my address?
Almost immediately, I received a message back from the unknown number. What the message said made me groan at my own stupidity, loudly.
Unknown number: The first page of your notebook. You've written, 'If lost please return to 138 New Street, or contact me.' with your number written underneath. I just did both ;)
I opened my book up to see inside exactly what this guy had said. I had written it at the start of last year, knowing how easy I lose everything and how important this notebook was to me.
Aria: Oh. Well, thank you for bringing it back to me.
I decided that, because I was wide awake now, and I had my notebook back, I may as well just write up the notes I was going to write last night. I spent 20 minutes writing them before looking at my phone again, seeing repeated messages from the unknown number.
Unknown number: That's alright. Don't mention it;)
Unknown number: I'm Harry. And yeah, I was the guy on your bus yesterday.
Unknown number: What's my reward for bringing your notebook back?
Unknown number: How about dinner on Friday?
Unknown number: Gone cold on me now? Unfair.
I scanned over the messages, trying to comprehend each one. I disregarded the first one, that wasn't relevant anymore. So the H in the note stood for Harry. The mysterious stranger who didn't stop looking at me for a 20 minute bus ride had brought my notebook to my house. He had texted me. And now he was asking to take me to dinner. I was struggling to take all of this in.
Aria: I'm Aria. I was writing my notes up, I wasn't ignoring your messages. I'll think about dinner on Friday. I'll get back to you.
I sent the text to him, a small smile appearing on my face. I had experienced plenty of guys asking me to dinner, throughout my years in school and at university. But I found it hard to love. Ever since the ones I loved were ripped from me, I struggled with loving anybody. I had a number of friends that I guess I loved, but not in a deep, passionate way.
My phone gave me an alert yet again that I had a text. How fast I picked the phone up scared me. Was I getting too attached to him already? I couldn't be getting attached to him. I may never even see him again. I tried to open the text calmly, trying not to expect too much.
Harry: Pretty name for a pretty face ;) Don't take too long to get back to me love.
I decided not to reply to him this time, knowing that it wasn't going to help me in any way if I kept feeding into him. I put my phone on silent so that I wouldn't even notice if he replied. I went to my room and got ready for university. I decided to just put on a black cropped top, blue high waisted jeans and some black boots. Just a casual outfit, I didn't really wear anything special for university. I also wore the bracelet that my mother had gotten me 6 years ago, when I was 13. It was a pretty silver one, with a small butterfly charm attached to it. I brushed my hair and just left it flowing past my shoulders, before starting on my makeup, leaving it pretty natural today. After this morning's events, doing anything slightly out of the ordinary for university was definitely out of the picture. I decided to post to instagram, since I had plenty of time.

ariarose thank you @sophia126 ❤️After posting to Instagram, I decided to leave and get to university earlier today. Once I got on the bus, I sat down and found myself in my messages with Harry again. With a small grin on my face, I sent another message to him.
Aria: What time are you picking me up on Friday?
Third person
There was something about Harry that intrigued Aria. Excited her. He seemed damaged underneath the hard façade he put up. She could see it yesterday when his eyes met hers - behind the boldness of them, the danger of them, she recognised something in them that she saw in her own every time she looked in the mirror. A small slimmer of softness. He had witnessed something, just like she had. Something that made his heart go cold and his eyes flare up with green sparks of anguish every time they're open, daring anybody to trigger his memories. To trigger his reactions full of anger, full of hurt. Looking into his eyes induced fear into almost everybody he met, except for his friends that were alike to him, and except for Aria. Looking into his eyes induced a sense of anticipation into her, she could see adventure written all over him and she was desperately wanting to get to know him. But her own memories were holding her back, as usual, she was restrained from letting herself love by the thick strands of her own experiences. She desperately wanted to break free of her restraints, she wanted to experience warmth. The smile appearing on her face whenever Harry messaged her gave her some hope that perhaps, she would finally understand the true definition of happiness.- -
