Young Justice: The New Member

Chapter 1

The sun was shining, birds singing, gentle breeze blowing, today was perfect! Annabelle was swinging on a swing. Up and down up and down, then the sky turned dark and the swing broke. Annabelle stood up, and looked around. Everything was pitch black. A man formed in the darkness, he started towards her. "Stay back! please stay back!" Annabelle said desperately. He kept coming. "I am going to get you" the man said. I screamed. I sat upright on my bed. Wonder Woman rocketed into the bedroom. "Another one" she asked. I nodded. This wasn't the first time I had one of these nightmares. But this one seemed so real. Wonder Woman, my mentor, was like a mother to me. My real mother ditched me. Wonder Woman took me in and raised me as her own. We had been fighting together since I was five. Wonder Woman looked at me and said, "Annabelle I know you are just used to it being just us, but there is a team I think that can help you". I nodded her to continue. "And I was wondering if you wanted to join the team." she finished. She looked at me hopefully. I knew she wanted me to join. Why? Because she was squeezing my hand. You can say I can read minds.

But really, I take thoughts and talents from normal people. People with powers, like me, we'll I get that too. Whenever I do, people get a small headache. My cover is electricity. The first power I "took". I can give them back, but there's a chance I can give you the wrong persons memory and power.

Wonder Woman thought that joining the team would help me control my "lightning" power. She thought it would help me. She gave me everything, so how could I say no. I nodded like a madman, so she thought I was really exited. But on the inside I was scared to death.
