The year is 1980, January 29th. Maksim has received his orders from his commanding officer. His commanding officer has told him he needs to go undercover to America. Maksim doesn't refuse. His honor is important to him, his honor is the one thing that keeps him going. When Maksim was a young child his dad died for his honor, Maksim feels that it's the least he can do for his father. Maksim is sitting down in the airport thinking back on his father and the commanding officer. He is nervous that the Americans will know that he is a spy. He sits there waiting for his plane while he practices his American accent with a slight hidden Russian accent. He is interrupted by the intercom in the airport announcing that his concourse is ready for departure. He grabs his backpack and suitcase and heads to his concourse to get on his plane. He was given 10,000 American dollars by the USSR Government to make a living until he gets his salary coming in. As he is walking to his concourse to board the plane, people keep bumping into him almost as if he's invisible. As he boards the plane he tries to speak in the American accent he's been practicing. You're still able to hear a slight Russian in the accent, he gets frustrated. He finds his seat on the plane, and he is sitting by a mother with a baby, he already knows it's gonna be a long flight.
Maksim now arrives in the John F Kennedy Airport, in Queens, New York. He smells the fresh air of what Americans call freedom. Now he goes by Andrew Wilson to protect his identity. The closer he gets to the Marines recruiting place, the more anxious he gets. If anyone finds out he is a spy for the Soviet Union, he will be put to jail for life. He can't imagine getting put into jail. He is now approaching the doors, and as he opens them he feels the cool breeze from the inside. He is welcomed by some men in uniform. He now walks up to the recruiting office. "Hello, my name is Andrew Wilson, and I would like to recruit in the Marine" he says while trying to hide his Russian accent. "We will run a background check and we will tell you if you pass or not, it should only take a few minutes. You can go ahead and sit down in the waiting area until we call on you." says the recruiter. Andrew goes to sit down in the waiting area waiting for the recruiter to return with his results. He is quite nervous and hoping the Soviet Union has down their job correctly so he doesn't get in trouble. About 15 minutes later the recruiter calls his name "Andrew." He gets up and goes to the recruiter to get his results. "Congratulations Mr. Wilson, you have passed your first and easiest test! Now you will need to fill out this health evaluation forum." Andrew grabs the collection of papers and goes back to his seat. He is sweating anxiously because it's been a long time since he has written in English. He tries his best filling out the forum and using the English he knows. Towards the end, he is pretty confident that he passed the health evaluation part. He goes and turns it in, "Here you go" says Andrew "Thank you, stop by around this time tomorrow and we will let you know if you passed or not" says the recruiter while giving Andrew a big smile. Andrew is now walking out the recruiting office and heads to downtown to a phone store to buy a phone.
