Takai's pov

I sat on a bench, eating my after school snack. I always hung back after school so no one would follow me home. As I waited, I saw a familiar face as I blushed.

I had developed a crush on class E's reckless student, Karma Akabane. He was talking with some of his friends. I just hung back and watched them leave.

I had two reasons for not wanting to talk to Akabane. One, I was too shy to say anything to him and two, I was a Class A student.

Once everyone was gone, I got up and headed home. I entered the house and heard coughing from the living room. I saw my mother passed out on the couch, a bottle in her hand.

I walked past the living room, trying not to make noise and went to my Neice's room. She was currently fast asleep in her crib. I made sure she was proparly tucked in before going to study at my desk before going to work.

I studied for a few hours before heading to my job. Once I had finished, I started to head home. "I didn't realise how dark it would be" 8 whispered to myself.

While I was walking, I felt a hand on my shoulder as I spun around. "Hello there girly" an older man spoke, running one hand down the side of my face.

"I'm sorry sir. I need to go" I told him nervously, trying to walk away but he grabbed my wrist. "Come on. Why don't we have a little fun" ge explained as I tried to get my wrist free.

Suddenly, someone punched the guy in the back of the head as he fell to the ground, letting go ig my wrist. I looked up to see another guy with sort hair and some jacket or coat that was blown about by the wind however I couldn't see their face due to the darkness.

I daudled for a few moments before realising that this person could have bad intentions on his mind too. After that thought, I didn't miss a beat in running in the direction that went away from my house.

Once I figured that I was clear, I was about to head back when I realised that I didn't know how to get home from where I was. "Hey" someone yelled. I turned around in panic ready to make a run for it.

"You should thank people who rescue you rather than run off. I could have left you to that guy you know" the guy from before told me. I felt my face heat up as I recognised the voice.

I tried to say something but my voice caught in my throat. "What's wrong? Too much pride to thank someone who saved your life because you believe their a dead weight?" he asked, walking closer.

Once again, I tried to form words but was still too embarrassed to say anything. He let out a snort, looking me up and down. "I can't see why someone would want your body for some stuff but you are definitely easy pickings if your walking around when it's dark and can't even defend yourself" he told me.

"Thank you" I finally blurted out, my face as red as a tomato. "Wow. You actually say it. Thought you wouldn't because of your stupid pride" Karma e explained.

"I n-need to g-go" I stuttered before walking away. After a while of wandering around, I finally got home. I opened the door and snuck past the living room where my mum was now awake and drinking alcohol.

I went up to my room and checked on Onishi before going to bed, my mind still on Karma.
