I've actually this book idea stewing in my head for quite a while now. So I hope you enjoy it!

Anyway I'd thought I'd introduce the two main characters of this series.

Crystal Stairwell

Voice Actor: Ariel Winter

A seven-year-old girl who is the daughter of the CEO of an prestigious company and a famous movie star. Crystal is cheerful, energetic and has the remarkable ability to see the good in everything. Though she is slightly clueless about some things. She has Alopecia Areata, so he's unfortunately bald but has the most beautiful, sparkling hazel eyes you've ever seen.

One of her favorite things to do is dance, and is currently taking ballet classes where she is blossoming into a fine dancer. Crystal's incredibly sweet nature allows her to make friends with almost anyone. And while she does wish that her parents were around more often, she doesn't feel too lonely thanks to Lou.

Lou

Voice Actor: Antony Del Rio

A monster who takes the appearance of a sixteen-year-old human boy and the true nanny of Crystal. Cool, calm and collected. Lou isn't one for conversation. (Or much of anything else for that matter.) In his human form, Lou has brown eyes and cyan, gravity-defying hair. Despite his slender frame, Lou is extremely powerful and can easily lift a bus over his head with one hand. The only person that Lou actually does smile around, is Crystal. Who's pure heart has absolutely captivated him.

Lou takes very special care of Crystal when the neglectful hired Nanny fails to do so. Lou is also very protective of Crystal and gets really angry if she gets hurt in any way, in which his eyes start to glow red. If he has to, Lou will revert to his terrifying monster-form to scare off people who would try to kidnap Crystal for her parents' money. All while making sure that Crystal never sees his monster-form. As he fears that she would afraid of him.

Now to explain how monsters work in this world.

Monsters can disguise themselves as humans in order to blend in. The way to tell them apart from real humans is that disguised monsters can't hide their fangs.

Monsters also have the ability to hide in shadows. Like, literally melt into them. This makes it easier to hide in dark places such as inside closets and under beds, which leads to the next topic.

Monsters don't need sleep. And they don't eat, not in the way we do at least. Instead, monsters feed off Dreamia. A mist-like energy that humans give off when they're asleep. Children give off more Dreamia than adults do, so monsters prefer to hide in their rooms.

There are also two types of Dreamia. Pleasant Dreamia and Nightmare Dreamia. Some monsters, like Lou, prefer Pleasant Dreamia. But there are monsters who prefer Nightmare Dreamia. And so they scare the child in order for them to get more.

And that's it. Bye for now!
