The sweet sounds of the farm in the morning were so soothing. As Lilly got out of bed she could hear her foster parents arguing. She walked out into the lounge room with a tired look on her face. Her foster parents stop fighting instantly because they hate to fight around her.

"What are you fighting about mum and dad?" she asked,

This time they weren't fazed about fighting around her.

"Your father is not going to work because he doesn't want to! But I tell him he has to because we need the money!" her mum said with a bellow.

"That is such a little thing to worry about!... Mum, Dad I'm going out to the barn!" Lilly says with a humph and stormed off. When she got out to the barn she got out the horse feed and started feeding them. Still, in her pyjamas and grumbling to herself, a tug on her pants gave her a startle. She looked down to see Dodo her dog with his ball next to him. Dodo has been with her since her first step and every time he is near her a smile cracks from her lips. Lilly grabs the ball and throws it. That next minute something out of the corner of the she wriggled its way to her, it was a brown snake!

"AHHHHHH!"

Lilly's Dad came running out with a startle. There Lilly was sitting on the ground holding her leg. He immediately grabbed the shovel to stab the snake. He killed it then scooped up Lilly and chucked her in the car.

"But we live an hour out of town Dad?" Lilly said as she was going pail.

Dad punches the accelerator and they made it there in 15 minutes. At this point, Lilly was as white as a ghost and her leg was swollen. They got out of the car and straight to the emergency room.

"MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN BIT BY A BROWN SNAKE, SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!" Her dad shouted at the doctors, and in an instant, she was off to the operation room. As they wheeled her passed them, Dad stopped one of the docs and said with passion and fear,

"Is she going to be OK, TELL ME!"
