"Come on Mae!!" A delighted little boy calls for his friend. "I'm coming Harry, I'm coming!" The two were perfect together. They were just five years old, but already knew they were meant for each other. They lived right next to each other so they would play together everyday. "Ow!" cried Mae from a distance. Harry raced over to her. "I fell on my knee" Mae whined and whipped the tears from her eye. "Don't worry Mae, I'll take care of you." Harry said and sat down next to her. He held her hand tightly. "I love you." "I love you too, Harry." since then, the two have been best friends.
Harry had later become a big star in band called One Direction when he was sixteen. But they still stayed close friends. Mae didn't mind all the fame, Harry was still her best friend.
It was the first day of school. Mae was putting on her outfit when Harry knocked at the door. She ran downstairs. "Who is it?" "It's me." Just by the sound of his voice, Mae knew who he was. She opened the door. "I'm here to pick you up for school!" Harry said with a big grin on his face. "Harry what are you talking about?" Mae asked with a little laugh. "I'm here to walk you to school silly goose!" Harry laughed and pinched her stomach. "Okay, let me just grab my bag." And with that, they were off for school.
When they got to school, a whole swarm of girls came around Harry and Mae. "Omg are you Harry Styles?!" cried a short girl in a pink skirt. "Yes I am." Harry said with a grin. Harry signed a few autographs and then took Mae by the hand and quickly walked away. "Don't you love the attention?" Mae asked when they were alone. "Yes, but I love you way more." Harry said and smiled. Harry looked down and blushed. Mae laughed. Harry looked up and smiled wide. Then he grabbed her into a long intense bear hug. It was a long hug, too. A flash of light hit them. When Mae turned, her eyes widened. It was a pap! Harry grabbed Mae's arm and ran. They rushed into the school and up the stairs. They finally sat on the stairs argue top floor. "Man, that was crazy!" Harry said, panting. Mae nodded and looked away. "Whats bothering you, love?" Harry placed his fingers on her chin and faced her towards him. Mae's eyes filled with tears. "What will all your fans say? Mae hurried her face in her hands. "Hey hey, baby it's gonna be okay." Harry reassured her and put his arm around her. This was gonna be a long week.
And there it was. On the front cover of Star Weekly. "Harry Styles and Mystery Girl getting cozy in the school yard?" "Ugh!" Mae slapped the magazine on the counter. Harry gulped. "Don't worry no one is really gonna take this seriously. There is fake star gossip on magazine covers all the time." Mae knew he was trying to comfort her, but it wasn't working. "And what if they don't, then what?" Mae put her face in her hands.
Harry:
Oh man she is really freaking out. And she looks so cute when she does it. Harry snap out of it. She doesn't think of you as anything more than a friend. But she is so damn cute!
"Harry?" Mae was snapping her fingers in my face now. "Yeah sorry." Man that was close.
Mae:
Ok that was weird. And come to think of it, Harry has been acting quite weird lately. Hmm. Maybe he likes someone. Haha. I have GOT to find out who it is!! :)
"Hey Mae wanna come over to the house and hang with me and the boys?" Harry was smiling again. "Yeah sure. You know I always love hanging with the boys." "Yay!" Harry grabbed my arm and playfully skipped to his car and we drove over to the house where the boys lived. "Hey Mae!" Louis shouted and jumped up to hug me. "I see you are, er, hyper." I said with a smile. Louis laughed. "Yep." I said hello to the rest of the boys and then plopped down on the couch. We all chatted for a bit before I started to doze off a little. "Maybe I should head home." I yawned and started to leave when I felt someone tug on my sleeve. "Dont leave!" Harry whined like he did when I used to leave him in the sandbox when I got bored. "But Harry I'm really tired and we have school tomorrow." Harry let go. "Fine." he folded his arms and leaned back on the couch. "Don't pout, you will make me cry. I love you, all." I waved goodbye and left.
Harry:
She said she loved me...sort of. It was a start! I should have made my move tonight. Ugh. Stupid Harry, very stupid. Ugh.
The next day I heard my alarm clock go off very loudly in my ear. The first thing I did was check my messages. There was one from Mae!
Mae :) : You didn't walk to school with me today :( very great best friend.
I quickly responded.
Me: No Mae I'm so sorry! I love you xx
I rushed to get my clothes on and eat breakfast. "Woah slow down big boy! What's the rush?" Louis asked as I stuffed my mouth with cereal. "I forgot to wake up early to walk Mae to school!!" Louis smiled. "Wow you really like this girl don't you?" I stopped eating and looked down. "Is it that obvious?" Louis smirked. "Oh yeah." he patted me on the shoulder and disappeared into his room.
