Being human again

It had gone dark now, everyone else had left the small shop besides me, Blake, and Weiss.
We haven't moved for a while, but who blame us? It was comfortable, and truthfully, I never thought I'd be able to hug my friends again. if...I could call them that. The way I looked at them before wasn't exactly a way you would look at a friend...

Weiss rested her head on my lap, probably asleep, while Blake was on my shoulder.
A screech breaks though the quiet, but I don't flinch, because by now that noise was something I'm used too, it was like hearing planes passing by back before everything happened, loud but you never really seemed to notice it.

Even with friends, it was still the apocalypse, it was still evil, deathly, and cold. Although, I can say I'm not as cold anymore, not with them around me.
"Not much for small talk anymore huh?"
Blake says gently, looking up at me.
How could I be? I haven't talked in years. I haven't exactly had anyone to have a nice chat with, so it's not like I can just go back to was.
"Hey, Yang...it's alright...you don't have to talk"
Blake says, a bittersweet smile on her face
"No it fine I just...don't remember the last time I talked."
I say finally, deciding I might as well try...for Ruby
"You really were alone that entire time...I'm so sorry Yang"
I sigh
"It's fine, I'm just...glad to see you guys again"
Blake nods before putting her head back on my shoulder
"Well, some things haven't changed"
Blake says, playfulness in her words
"Huh?"
She smiles at me
"You're still one hell of a heating blanket"

"Oi"
A voice cuts through my sleeping. I moan in annoyance
"Ey, ya can have all the sleep in the world once its not in my shop, we got hotels ya know"
Everything comes back to me again in a frenzy, Blake, Weiss, Utopia...

Blake groans
"Five move minutes"
Weiss says, her voice groggy probably because of the sleeping
"...Jade...go wild"
I hear distant chuckling before...
"PUSSY-"
"Literally Jaden out of everything you could have picked to yell?!"
Weiss screams, suddenly awake, throwing her old used tea bag at Jade
"It got your attention, didn't it? Plus it annoyed you"

An African American girl with black hair, a toned body, and a black lion tail behind her sighs
"Well, she ain't wrong. Don't think I've seen you around here, my names Lea"
Lea says smiling
"As great as it is to meet ya, you gotta go, we can't have loitering around here"
I nod before getting up, much to both Blake and Weiss, who groaned in dismay
"Come on, you heard the lady, plus i need to be shown the ropes right?"
Weiss nods before getting up finally, and gesturing me to her.

"This is where the hotels are, no rent or paychecks, but you still got to work a job"
I nod, looking around the my surroundings
The place has definitely gone through it, you can see where he cleaned the vines and rubble, but something about it was nice that way...kind of makes me feel like if we can take this place back we found take back more.
"Yang? You coming?"
Weiss yells, waving her hand at me
"Yeah...yeah I'm coming"
I say, before jogging up to her

For once in a long time, I feel hope course through my veins
