Blood and fire.
Deep, deep cuts on all surfaces of their flesh. A single soul had left the mothers body, the father still clinging on by a string.
The damned driver was going over 80 when they collided. A mother and father with their twin sons headed to pick up the one daughter from daycare to go to a town ball.Charles, the second born, had been sleeping for the car ride, awakened by his head impacting with his brothers. His twin, Marlo, watched the horror of his mother's torso being crushed and his fathers head hitting the dashboard, before him and Charles had bumped heads.
The younger of the boys pulled the older away from the car, fire spreading and taking whatever life was left inside with it.
Both parents and the man in the truck had died.Within minutes, Marlo and Charles Marr had been driven to the closest hospital. Charles was perfectly fine other than a mild concussion and whiplash. As for Marlo, his fibula had snapped between the front seat and back left door, and the tibia cracked at an angle. Many of Marlos cuts had to be stitched and sewn shut, Charles only having a few scratches.
When Marlo woke up the next morning, his aunt Alexi and uncle Tom where sleeping in chairs near his feet, Charles' bed scooted closer beside his. His blonde hair wasn't anywhere in the room.
Marlo moved his blue eyes around the room. Jaxon was nowhere to be seen either. The oldest kicked his legs over the side of the bed, pain shooting up his leg. A black cast had made its way up his calf, toes sticking from the bottom. Marlo quickly shook off all curiosity and grabbed the crutches by the window.
Having broken the opposite leg in 2nd grade, he new his way around. Nurses have odd looks to the blue eyes through dark scruffy hair. His sister had to be somewhere. Maybe the hospital daycare..?Marlo swiftly turned the corner, long sandy hair on a tiny body bounced as the three year old ran the halls.
"Jaxon!" Her head spun around, hazel green eyes and a beaming smile spread on her face. She ran her tubby legs down the corridor and ounces into her brothers arms. He flinched"Mallo!" The teen set his sister in the tile, him glancing around the area. "Jasson canf find mommy."
Tears pricked his dry eyes, the realization of his parents death and his baby sister not even knowing they were gone finally hitting him. "Jax... I don't think mommy is going to come back."
"Marlo Sebastian Marr. I don't want you explaining this to her. She'll figure it out when it's time. Now get back in bed or so help me I will tell Lexi." Marlo tilted his head upwards to find his brothers face scowling down at him.
"Hi, Charlie."
"Run. Go, he's coming. Run!" The two girls, like sisters, kept their fast pace away from the hunter of their kind. Vampires.
They were violet eyed creatures, feeding on blood only when needed. Others get high off the humans on drugs or drunks. Most live among the normal, occasional people wearing contacts over the bright purple. Werewolves were friends mostly, helping and being a home for most vampires. Some even falling in love , hybrids being born.
Kay Piez, the born vampire, followed her turned, older friend into a busy people filled building. The hunter shoved his gun into it's sheath so no chaos would cover the lobby floor. Lena pushed fourteen year old Kay into a clothing rack of mens shirts and jackets."I'll be back for you. If I'm not here by nightfall, I want you to find your way to your mothers home. "
"But she left me. Sent me out."
"She was getting dangerous. Unsafe for a child. She will take you in again. Trust me." Lena pushed the clothes around and slowly snuck from the men's section into fruits and vegetables. Kay was alone in a rack of Wal-Mart clothes.
Three hours passed. It was quieter, less people, most likely no hunter. Kay peaked out of her hiding place, no other person in sight. In a quick sprint, the young teen ran out the exit as fast as she could, black hair whipping her back.
The only way to her mother's house was from the high school. Kay made her way through dark streets and nasty alleyways. She walked miles before reaching the final block. Once Kay passed the school she jogged a few more, her mother's light tan colored rent-to-own house stood only feet away. She burst through the door, a loud gasp and metal on marble made their way to Kay's ears. Her mother had just cut her arm elbow to pinky.
