"What do you mean you're leaving?"

"I have no reason to stay here. After the incident last year I haven't had a job and I got evicted so now I'm in a hotel. New York is a fresh start on then other side of the country where people won't really, you know, recognize me." I leaned back on her couch, the cushions practically swallowing me whole. "I want a new way to go with more options."

Anne folded her arms and punched the bridge of her nose. "You're only doing this because Venom is gone."

She is wrong... We are always here and will always be with Eddie. I smirked at Venoms comment and shook my head. "That has nothing to do with it. I'm fine and I'm going to be fine in New York. I've already applied for a job at the daily bugle for some guy J. J. Jameson. He's got this kid working for him and he wants me to teach him how to report and not just take pictures."

She put her hands down. "Well, when's your flight?"

"I'm not flying. The engines are really high in pitch and are annoying. I prefer my motorcycle anyway." Planes are scary. You got that right.

I packed only what I needed, all the savings and clothing items shoved into my travelers backpack and portable trunk. Venom spoke to me while we drove, other times completely silent just taking in the views of the country. The desert was the worst part, the heat making him grumpy which made me grumpy from his whining. I think the most best moments were the calm nights with vast sky's of the brightest stars.

Venom dispensed his body from my right side to lay with me in the dirt and stare at the sky. I could feel his longing. "You miss your planet?"

Sometimes. It was home. I will never not miss home. What about you, Eddie. Do you miss home?

He turned his head to me. I shrugged. "Of course I do. I left everything for you but it wasn't good for me there anymore. I guess we'll have to make a new home in New York together, huh?"

I guess.

I entered N.Y. state late the next night, the lights unbelievably bright when we got to the city. They were nothing like I've seen before. I have been there before on a few cases, none lasting so long as to sending my time looking at the lights or going to museums and galleries. The symbiote was my helmet. He acted as my protection as I swerved through the streets to my final destination. Rego park queens. I had already rented the cheap upstairs half of a duplex, my lower neighbor an old man by the name of Stan. We would be sharing the kitchen and nothing else. Anne called as soon as I was thinking about taking a walk.

"I'll send you some furniture and things to spice up your walls so you don't live in pigsty like that crappy apartment you were in last time."

Venom groaned. I liked the way the other place looked.

"You don't have to do that. I'll be fine with just a bed and a sofa." Venom nodded with his sharp toothy grin. "Maybe also a t.v." Ven gasped.

"Alright, that's fair. I'll order them tonight so just text me your address and you'll have them in a few weeks." We said our goodbyes and she hung up. I had nothing in the house, no blankets. Nothing to sleep on but a musty old carpet. I could be your covers and your comfort. There really is no need for those materials, Eddie, when you have me.

"It's nice to have some human other than it being in our diet. Maybe we could go out to a club tomorrow, how does that sound?"

Ven smiled wider. Yes, wonderful. Let us commence. I chuckled and turned into my side, Venom using himself to cover me like a blanket. We have no worries now, Eddie. Just us...
