It had already been a long rough night for Doctor Julian Devorak. He now also had to deal with some guy called asra who took naps in his library as they had to work together.
Julian grumbled and put a hand in his auburn locks growling at the paper shoving it aside, letting the feather hit the blank sheet again. The scribbling and grumbling awoke the magician who had been resting and thinking of ways to cure the plague, with his magic.
"ughr.... Not again...." the doctor grumbled and hit his head on the table, letting out a groan in discomfort but he stayed put. The man was worn out and exhausted, asra noticed that getting up from his comfortable blankets. He slowly walked over with a pillow in his hand,"Julian you must rest" he softly spoke.
"Please go bother someone else" Julian muttered to asra as he jawned, the white haired man just chuckled and put the pillow on the desk. "I am not offering Doctor Devorak" he softly whispered. Asra gently put his hands on Julians shoulders, the redhead tried to protest but the soft pillow and gently fingers kneading into his shoulders made him weak. He yawned laying his head into the pillow snoozing of within seconds.
Asra kept kneading his fingers into the tight muscles and let go when they loosened up. He grabbed a blanket and wrapped around the doctor "good rest Julian."
Asra put his slippers on and stretched himself again letting the doctor sleep for now, he tidied the desk up a little making sure he'd not spill any ink in his sleep. Once the desk was clear he made his way outside, into the garden and sat by the fountain. The water softly hitting another layer of water calmed him, the ripples on the surface calling him.
He closed his eyes and lied down on the edge of the fountain, what did he get himself into? He was working with a man who did absolutely not have the word self-care in his vocabulary or sleep.
"hey faust...." he softly whispered as a gorgeous light purple snake came down the tree. ".. Arsa..." she slid to him and the magician chuckled "hello girl I missed you too... Sadly I can't take you inside... The doctor might be scared of you". She tilted her in confusion and stared at him "why?" asra chuckled "well yesterday I heard him scream 'die die die' to a spider on his desk"
"he's quite a hard worker though... He does think I'm annoying, since I nap a lot to think better" he sighed a little. Faust rolled up on his chest and flicked her tongue out. "I know I know..." asra mumbled and trailed his soft fingers over her scales, "he likes birds though... Saw him keeping a couple drawings of them..." he mumbled to the snake. He stayed a while until he noticed sun going down "I have to go again my sweets I'll see you tomorrow again okay?" he promised.
She put her head down a little sad to leave her owner again, "asra" she perked her body up a little as asra helped her get back on a branch. "goodnight faust" he said and smiled softly at her "my gorgeous girl" asra said proudly as she nestled on a branch. He walked back to the Palace itself and into the hallways he got a light erie feeling. He swallowed and looked over his shoulder a few times, was he being followed? He didn't see anyone.
Making his pace quicker he soon reached the door to the library, he opened it quickly and shutting it fast. He casted a spell upon the door and room as he really felt like they were threatened, "strange...." he muttered and turned around to see the doctor. Luckily still asleep but he felt odd, something wasn't right and he wondered if the doctor could feel it too.
Creeping up on the walls he felt a strange pressure on the spell he casted, "what the..." he got dizzy and stumbled to his pile of blankets crashing into them like he'd been hit from behind. He groaned and tried to turn but just fell away.
The next moment he knew was soft muttering coming from beside him, the soft doctors voice worry ridden in his accent. "it's like he's taken a rough hit from behind..." he whispered to the countess who was now speaking as well. "how is that even possible? There's no way a guard would have hit him" she softly spoke.
Asra slowly came to his senses he was wrapped in one of his own blankets and his complete corner of pillows. Hold on... That wasn't his blanket... It didn't smell like him. The doctor spoke again "his skin is very cold and yet he's sweating a lot...I will make him his tea and keep an eye on him." he reassured the countess "he's in save hands with me" "I trust you doctor Devorak... He's very important to me... So are you"
A silence between them "I'm sorry countess but may I request more pillows and blankets to keep him warm? He's got to stay warm.. My coat keeps a lot of warm but not enough." he softly said. Nadia replied to the request softly "of course doctor... Wouldn't want him to get too cold." she said. "no I wouldn't....." his voice trailing lightly off. He wrapped the blankets and coat better round asra "I can see you take good care of him" nadia her voice quietly said. "you look worried doctor... More worried than before" she noted.
The rest of the conversation was numb and mumbled due asra falling back asleep again. What was going on in this Palace? What was casted upon this Palace and that strange count? And why was the doctor so worried about him? So many questions to be answered but for now he needed to rest.....
