"Where is it? I need that rose candle for this spell," Keith muttered to himself then found it and placed it in his semi-circle of candles around his tabletop cauldron. "Now, lizard's tail. Lizard's tail..." he grabbed the jar and looked inside, "What?! When did I use the last one?!" He heard crunching and looked over at his cat familiar who was crunching on a dried lizard tail, "Damn it, Black!" he slammed his fist on the counter and Black ran off with the tail. Keith sighed then checked his book, "Okay, not all hope is lost, 'when lizard's tail is not available, a blind-worm may be used in its stead'," he read out loud then sighed. "Do I really have to use my blind-worm? Curses, I caught it only yesterday and it was hard to find," he muttered then grumbled and went to get it, the squirmy thing in its tank went right next to the cauldron with a little groan from the witch.

He sat down and prepared to light the fire under the cauldron when he was interrupted by a weak yet desperate knock. He frowned and stormed over to the door, opening it and letting a bleeding man fall at his feet, clearly in need. He pulled the man inside and leaned him against the wall as he closed the door before checking the wound with a sigh.
"Damn vampires," he muttered and slipped off his necklace, "Hold still."
He then pressed the crystal to the wound, placing his hand over it as the crystal began to glow green, illuminating both of their faces and healing the injured man who would turn into a vampire soon, Keith would send him off as soon as night fell. The man was soon healed so Keith took his crystal back but didn't put it back around his neck, it would have to be purified before he could wear it again.

"There, now what's your name?" Keith asked.
The man took a few breaths and calmed himself before answering, "The name's Lance," he said.
"I'm Keith, you can stay until nightfall but don't disturb me," he stood, "I'm in the middle of an important spell."

Keith walked off, he washed his hands and hung his necklace in the stained glass window to purify. He returned to his stool and sighed, he didn't have a good handle on creating fire out of nothing just yet so he used a match to light his candlestick which he used the fire from to light his candles and to ignite the fire pit under his cauldron before quickly shutting his hand and putting out his flaming fingers. He poured in the base liquid, fresh pond water from his own pond in his backyard, then he began softly chanting as he put in each ingredient, he named off the ingrdients as he put them in and sighed as it came to the blind-worm.

"This better be worth it," he muttered and dropped it into the bubbling, smoky concoction. He looked back at his book and opened his mouth to continue chanting before he felt a presense beside him, he looked over and Lance was watching over his shoulder, "Didn't I say not to disturb me?"
Lance jumped back a bit, "S-Sorry, I just...I got really hungry all of a sudden and I thought I smelled something good over here," he said, "But I mean, like, I got really hungry. I've never been so hungry before."
"You're a vampire now, all you'll feel for the rest of your immortal life is hunger," Keith replied then went back to his potion, he can only make it today or he'll have to wait 30 years for his next chance.
Lance suddenly grabbed the witch and went right for Keith's neck to which Keith promptly reacted by pushing the new vampire away, grabbing a pinch of his nearby ashes then flicking them at Lance who recoiled defensively.
"Back! My blood is not for you," Keith said firmly, scowling down at Lance.
The new vampire whimpered, "But I'm so hungry...it feels like I haven't eaten in days!" he whined.
Keith sighed then rolled his sleeve up, "Fine, only to get you to leave me alone so I may finish my potion and spell," he offered his wrist.
Lance wasted no time jumping up and grabbing Keith's arm, sinking his fangs into Keith's wrist and getting the witch to wince.
"Hey! Not so rough!" Keith said but sighed when Lance didn't listen and just endured it for a couple moments before pulling his arm away, pressing some gauze to his new wound, he always had some nearby, "That's enough, I don't need to faint right now," he said and shooed Lance away.

The vampire slowly calmed then went and sat by the wall. Keith continued with his potion, adding the final ingredients then casting the spell.
"Eye of newt and wool of bat, devil's tongue and foot of cat. No one ever really wins when called upon are the seven sins. Let this be a lesson to all, there is no rise without a fall. Now we'll see who is true of heart, when of this elixir they take part."
The cauldron rumbled and the candle light flickered the suddenly everything went still. Keith ladled the potion into several small vials, about a tablespoon in each and the potion was crystal clear in the two and a half dozen vials he filled.

"What even is that potion for?" Lance asked from his spot, looking a little freaked out from what just happened.
"For finding out the truth about people, the truth they don't want you to-" Keith was cut off by scratching and whimpering at the back door, "I swear to the Moon Goddess, Shiro, that'd better not be you at the back door!" he shouted. The sounds stopped and Keith sighed, putting the vials away, "Since you're here, go let him in," he told Lance who went and did so.
Keith noticed he had a dose left in his cauldron so he poured it in a glass and poured some juice in with it, he decided to find out where his brother's been all this time, plus he could test his potion and see if it works or not.
