Daniel POV

Daniel:
Jennie-ssi can you come into my office for a sec?

I said through the office phone on the table and she agrees to that.

Yes, today is my first day entering my company, 2 weeks after the incident..

Before I get here, I was debating to myself whether to come or not. I feel like a jerk after what I did towards chae hee. Tbh, I'm looking forward for today, hoping the she already forgive me but sadly I still can't find her...

Not long after that, Jennie comes into my room with files in her hands.

Jennie:
Yes, Mr Daniel? Anything that you want me to help with?

I take a glance at her before shifting my gaze at my table. I frown a little bit when I can't find any cup of office on my table. Usually, when I arrived, there will be always a cup of coffee on my tabble but not today.

And what's weirder for me is when I find my office not as clean as it usually does.

Daniel:
Have you seen Miss chae hee? I think she forgot to clean my room this morning.

I said while dusting off the dust from my table and rearrange the scatterd paper. When I lift up me head, Jennie send me a dumbfounded face.

Daniel:
What?

She quickly look away and scoff awkwardly.

Jennie:
N-nothing.. It just... I thought you already know about it.....

I stop.

Daniel:
Know what?

Jennie:
Ah.... Chae hee already resigned from her job 2 weeks ago...

Daniel:
P-pardon me?

I said trying to keep my voice steady from cracking. I blink my eyes for a few times, feeling quite shocked by that news.....

Jennie:
Ah... She come here 2 weeks ago in casual clothes... I thought she already told you about it since you both come back from jeju island togethe---

Daniel:
No we were not. She left me that night.

Her mouth goes to an 'O' shapes while nodding her head awkwardly.

Tbh I'm still speechless over the fact that she left me on that night.

Daniel:
That's all I want to ask.. You can leave this room now... Thank you.

I smile bitterly as she nods and leaves the room.

I stare at my computer in silent as many things start running into my mind about the incident. I run my hand through my hair out of frustration.

What have I done...

As my eyes start roaming around, I spot a familiar phone on the coffee table with something underneath it.

I walk over to that table and it's chae hee's phone above the latter.

Yeah.. I bought chae hee a new phone when we were at the island without telling her and I secretly put them into her bag but now after i see that she gave me back the phone, it really breaks heart.

I put that phone aside aside with trembling hand before read the letter.

Please accept this letter as notice that I will be resigning from my job here at XXXX Co, LTD. 2 days from today's date.

Thank you for the support and the opportunities you have provided me over the course of the last one month and a half. Thank you for the phone that you gave me but I'm sorry, I can't accept that gift.

Please find someone who is better than me.

I crumble the paper in my hand and throw it at the wall as hard as I can before let out a frustrating groan.

Suddenly, someone knocks on the door.

Daniel:
Come in.

I said still staring at the floor blankly as the door flew open, revealing Jennie.

Jennie:
Mr Daniel... The clients from Busan has arrived and they are waiting for you at the meeting room now.

I nod.

Daniel:
Thank you.... I will be there soon.

She nods and leave me in my room. I sigh while fixing my coat before heading out straight to the meeting room.

5 hours later....

As soon as I finish the meeting, I grab my things from my office and walk towards the parking basement right under the company.
