CHAPTER 9

-4 YEARS AGO-

Taehyung P.O.V

Jungkook came home an hour after everything. We were in our room and I held onto Jungkook, allowing him to let out his cries. Stroking his har and whispering words for him to hear.

"Hyung I'm sorry, i...i...I'm so so sorry."

He would repeat that line over and over, like a broken record. He pulled me close and he wouldn't let go. "It was all my fault."

It was in that moment that I started to tear up. My tears wouldn't stop and a thought entered my mind. I almost lost Jungkook, my Kookie. Am I that big of an idiot to not notice? I could have lost him in that mission.

Yoongi hyung was shot, what if that was Kookie?

I tried to silence myself and bit back a sob, pulling Jungkook closer to me.

"Stop crying Kookie, youre safe now." I said shakily, I had to be strong, I had to be strong for him.

"I'm here now Kook, no one Is going to take you from me."

Our legs were intertwined as I hugged him. Our bodies were so close that I could hear his heart beating. I felt jungkook's head move away from my chest and looks at me. Face red, puffy and tear stained.

"Really? Then...then w-why are you crying hyung?"
He stutters whilst trying to sound cocky.

I wipe my tears and gave out a small chuckle. "Cause you stupid idiot, you...I-I almost lost you. I almost lost the one that I lo-"

Fuck. I almost said it outload. What the hell was I thinking??

"I know."

Jungkook suddenly said. Breaking my line of thought. "I know, I feel the same way."

"I love you too."

I felt shaken. I didn't know what to say. So, with my usual smirk, I said what I had to.

"Of course you do Kookie. We're brothers now."
