Morning sunlight filtered into the den. Birds sang sweet little melodies to each other, and dew glittered on plants and on the ground. In Storm's den, Ash opened his eyes to the sound of little paws pattering on the den floor. He wobbled to his short, stubby little paws.
His siblings-two brothers, Sky and Moon, and a sister, Lily-were playing their favorite game, Hunters and Prey. Ash loved that game. He scampered over to where his siblings were playing.
"Can I play?" he squeaked.
"Sure!" Moon replied.
"You can be the prey!" said Sky.
Ash's tail drooped. "But I was the prey yesterday!" he whined.
"Sorry," said Lily, "but it's the only thing we've got left. You should've gotten up earlier."
Ash sighed. "Fine," he said.
