I mean they fought all the time but something was different this time, I stood on the stack of newspapers looking over the wall into the living room, why isn't’ anyone coming to see about me, to greet me this morning, not even the dog? I stood at the top of the steps wondering. So, I did what I did best, I began screaming and crying at the top of my lungs. If nothing else would get attention in that house, that always worked. I mean usually, I only used the screaming to stop them from fighting but I cried all the time, that was nothing new. Now keep in mind a 1977 nine-year-old and a 2019 nine-year-old are not the same. Back then children were children all we wanted to do was play and adult affairs were not discussed around or with the children unless you were a nosey sneaky child who would eavesdrop. "
