Ode to Happiness

You are the reason my life is so light

The sunlight shines bright,

As it gleams on me tonight,

It’s brighter than all the other days,

You make sadness delay,

I feel like there is nothing in my way,

You have made me smile today,

You make me fly,

As if my wings try,

Reaching for the sky,

I have to pry,

Through the clouds,

I feel like I am glowing when I see you,

Blinding my eyes,

Like it is the first time I see light,

You make me cry,

Slowly drying my eyes,

Like a hot desert,

Just trying to get by,

Not having enough time,

The darkness seeps in,

Covering my smile,

As I sigh,

Saying goodbye,

One last time,

But the thought of you makes me smile,

Bringing the light back in my life,

As I see you look at me,

Longing for you to see me smile,

They say that my smile was so bright,

That the sun had no chance against me,

You were the reason I smiled

You were there beside me,

You made me alter my choices,

I wanted someone else to have the same feeling,

The feelings you give me,

I wanted to be selfish,

But you made me a better person,

You brighten my life,

I want to be right,

I want you to be here with me tonight,

You are beautiful,

You are amazing,

You keep me going,

You make me sing,

You make me laugh,

You make me cry,

You keep me alive,

You make me feel,

I love you,
