Big World, Small Life- Chapter one- Happiness, Sadness and goodbye

"Mum please wake up. I don't want to have to live without you"
That's the flashbacks running wild in Natalia's mind. This seemed to happen often, Natalia would often get teary.
  
"Babe! Are you even listening?" Coby interrupted. "Sorry bub, another black out I guess" sighed Natalia.


 Coby didn't say another word. He looked into her eyes, running his fingers through her hair with a sympathetic smile on his face. He watched as a tear rolled down her face. Coby ended the silence by saying "You're not alone beautiful. I love you". Natalia replied back with "I love you too. I need my Mum and Dad. Life isn't right". Before Natalia could say another word, Coby kissed her. 

They were lost in their own world. As it begun to rain hail stones, Natalia and Coby decided it was a great idea to get home quickly and go their separate ways until the next day.

Natalia sat up in her bed that night thinking too hard. Her Dad is in jail due to manslaughter when she was just a kid. Her Mum passed away of cancer a year ago. Things weren't easy for Natalia at all. She only had her boyfriend Coby, and her best friends Amy and Wilson.

She heard her drunk grandparents out in the lounge room swearing and blasting music.Her grandparents didn't really give a shit. They were too busy getting drunk and living life relying on drugs and alcohol. This was everyday life, Natalia was used to it by now. Natalia continued to drift off to sleep over the loud music. Before she knew it, she was in a deep sleep.

As one tired Natalia walked into the school grounds, she saw Amy, Wilson and Coby standing next to the Science lab. She bolted to them all to join in on the conversation. 

"Yo Natalia. Were playing a game of truth or dare. Wanna join in?" asked Wilson. "Yeah why not?" answered Natalia. "Okay cool. Truth or dare Natalia?" Amy pounced. "Well what do you think I'm going to- "Natalia was cut off by her ringing phone from an unknown number. "Ooooo who's calling ya huh?" asked Coby curiously. "I really don't know. I should answer in case" answered Natalia.

When Natalia answered she heard a weird American accent. It was different and fluent. 

"Hi is this Natalia?" she heard from the accent. "uh yeah it is. Who is this?" she asked. "Good. My name is Tony. I am in New Zealand at the official university of New Zealand. I have heard how well you are doing at school. I am offering you a spot in this university here in New Zealand" he said. Natalia had her phone on loud speaker so all her friends could hear.

She was over the moon. Coby grabbed her hand, winked and nodded. Natalia felt supported, so she said, "yeah sure, when do I start?". Part of it didn't feel right.She would have to be away from her friends and Coby for 2 weeks. She was told she would have to start in 3 days. 

Natalia had it all on her mind for the rest of the day. Natalia was on the phone to Coby at 9:00pm. 

"Natalia, you are a smart cookie. Smarter than anyone in our year level. This is a huge offer! Go for it!" Coby encouraged.

"But I'd have to be away from you all for 2 weeks. Plus, I'm not feeling the best. I've been having many dizzy spells over the past few weeks. I don't know that I'll feel safe in New Zealand" Natalia sighed. "Hey, we'll be in contact every day.I'll come over and visit you during the two weeks. Fuck us Natalia. Grab this opportunity while you can" he said. Natalia thought about it for a moment.
 
"You know what? Fuck it. Mum would want me to do this and so would Dad. I'm going. I'm leaving in two days. My goodbyes are going to be tomorrow" Natalia jumped. "That's my girl! I've got to go, I'll see you tomorrow for the goodbyes. Love you" he said as Natalia's mind spun around.

This day was going too quickly!! The end of the day was approaching, and that was when I needed to say goodbye to Amy,Wilson and Coby. "Yo Natalia. I really don't want you to leave. You were the one who made everything fun. The Amazing Foursome isn't going to be the same.It'll no longer be The Amazing Foursome, well for two weeks. But you chase down your dreams. We'll all see you again in two weeks" Amy said with sympathy in her voice.

Natalia begun to cry. How was she going to go for two weeks? "Amy, that just touched my heart" she said as Amy wrapped her arms around her. Wilson then joined the hug,Coby watched them all hug and cry. Before anything could happen, Coby ran away.He didn't want to have to say goodbye to Natalia. She broke free from the hug and followed Coby.

When she eventually caught up to Coby she said "so your seriously just going to run? You must be strong. That's what you always tell me. Take your own advice for once Coby. Life gives you many things to cry about, life has it's ups and downs, but we always work through it" Natalia said before she burst into tears. She placed her hands on his cheeks gently and said under her breath "we always work through it. Together".

Coby kissed her passionately. "Natalia, my heart is going to break. There will be a part of my heart missing for these next two weeks. I will get through it. I want you to be free and chase your dreams because beautiful...I love you very much". Coby went back to kissing her passionately. Natalia pulled back after a while. 

"Babe, I feel dizzy. I'm sorry, but I think I need to go home and continue packing and get some rest" she said apologetically. "Of course. Babe, don't forget me over the next two weeks okay?" Coby reassured. "I promise I won't. You will always be my one and only" she said. "Thank fuck. I love you okay? Don't forget that.Be free my cute little birdie" he said. Natalia laughed. "I love you too honey"she said.

As Natalia let go of his hand, a tear rolled down her face. She took about five steps and fell right to the ground. She collapsed. Coby sprinted to her screaming and crying for help. No one came out. He dialled 000 and before he knew it, the ambulance was here. This goodbye was not how it was meant to be at all. Natalia was being taken to hospital via ambulance. Coby didn't know what to do. All he could do was keep calm, but no matter how hard he tried he just had to let his anger and sadness out. What was going to happen now? Was Natalia's dream ruined for ever? Is she going to wake up? No one knew yet. This is going to be a game called the waiting game for poor Coby, Amy and Wilson. "Natalia, hang in there. Make your dreams come true baby. How the fuck did this fucking happen?" Coby muttered to himself.

The three of them stood there hoping for one thing...that one thing was that it's not the end for poor Natalia.
