Chapter 2- The beginning of a new life

Coby, Amy and Wilson sat beside Natalia's hospital bed. It was silence in the room, Coby was holding Natalia's hand talking to his unconscious girlfriend.
"Hey Coby. Were gonna go out and get some food. Will you let us know if anything changes? We'll be back in about an hour" Wilson told Coby. 
"Yeah sure thing" Coby said. Amy gave Coby a pat on the back as she walked out with Wilson. His mind was full of worry. He squeezed Natalia's hand and said "Babe please come back".


Funnily enough, he felt some movement in her fingers as he said that. She woke up finally. Natalia was confused. 
"What the fuck am I doing here? What happened? Coby, why am I here?" she panicked. 
"Hey hey beautiful. I'm here with you every step of the way. You collapsed. You'll be out of here soon" he reassured her as he kissed her lips. 
"I'm sorry" she said. 
"What for? You did nothing, other than scare the shit out of me" he said.
"That's exactly what I'm sorry for. I need to get out of here or I'll never make it to New Zealand" Natalia begged. 
"You'll be out of here as soon as possible babe. Don't you worry. Get some rest and before you know it, you'll be out of here" Coby said as he rubbed her hand gently. Natalia nodded slightly, rolled over and took Coby's advice.


5 HOURS LATER...


Natalia woke up to doctors disconnecting her from the machines she was connected up to. She was confused. What was going on? She saw Coby, Wilson and Amy standing beside her bed smiling cheerfully and having a laugh.
When Amy realised Natalia was awake she said, "Oh my god! Natalia good news!!! Your going home! Looks like your dreams aren't crushed after all honey" she said cheerfully.  Natalia was over the moon. She jumped out of the bed straight into Coby's arms. 
"Just grab your paper work from the front office and you'll be gone. Have fun in New Zealand! You go girl!" the doctor said in a sassy way. Natalia laughed and walked out with her best friends linking arms.


Later that night she was packing her bags ready to leave the next morning.  She packed a photo of her and Coby in her suitcase. She packed as many photos of her and Coby together as she could.  She wanted to feel as close to him as she possibly could, this was the only way. 


Once she had finished packing her bags, her Nanna knocked on the door. 
"Natalia, that fucking boyfriend of yours is at the door. He says he needs to check on you or some shit. I don't know and I really don't give a shit. I can't wait until you leave tomorrow, he'll stop coming around every bloody second" she yelled through the door. 
"Get some manners Nanna. Be polite. I really won't miss this" Natalia argued back. 
"For fuck sake, don't you give attitude young lady" she replied. It wasn't worth it. Natalia ignored, opened the door and pushed past her Nanna. She was on the edge of tears, of course until she saw Coby standing at the door. 
"I really can't stay long babe. I've decided to meet you at the airport at 9am tomorrow morning" he said.
"Oh okay. Thanks babe" she said as she wrapped her arms around her boyfriend's neck and kissed him. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow. Get off my property babe" she said as she laughed. "Oh yeah, or else what?" he teased. "I don't fucking know. Just leave okay? I love you" she yelled as she slammed the door.


She sat up that night in bed thinking. She was thinking hard about New Zealand. It was only for two weeks, but it will be a huge change. It's going to be a huge step in her life. Her Mum and Dad would want her to be happy and grab this opportunity while she can. This was a huge offer. Natalia smiled as she turned off her bright lamp on her bed side table. "I'm doing it Mum and Dad. All for you" she whispered to herself. 


She was waiting beside where her plane was going to land at the airport. Coby ran up from behind and wrapped her in a great, big hug. Natalia was totally ready for this. Her plane landed and it was officially time for her to go. She looked at Coby and she could see the sadness in his face. 
"Babe, are you sure your going to be alright?" she asked.
"It's not like it's forever. I'll be okay. As long as your happy, I'm happy. It's two weeks, it may feel like forever, but you know what? I can survive this" he said confidently. Natalia was holding back her tears, she could see Coby was too. She'd never seen him cry before. It will break her heart. 
"We are going to skype every day Coby. We'll never be apart. You know what I once read? We'll never be apart, maybe in distance, but never in heart" a tear rolled down her face as she said that. 
"So is this actually goodbye?" Coby asked. 
"I assume so. Don't miss me too much okay? Promise me you won't" she replied.
"You know I will miss you too much" he said. Natalia smiled and begun grabbing her bags. She was about to start walking to her plane, until Coby grabbed her hand and said "don't find a new guy. I love you to infinity" he said, as he begun to cry. 
"I love you much more Coby. I fucking love you. I will never find a better guy" she reassured. Coby kissed Natalia goodbye. She walked away from Coby, it seemed the further away she got, the more her heart broke. 


As she sat in her seat, watching everyone fasten their seat belts, her thoughts were running wild. She pulled out a photo of her and Coby and smiled. She then looked outside, through the building, and looked right at Coby who was a mess. Natalia heard an announcement over the speaker and away the plane went. Further away from home, further away from Wilson and Amy she got. Even worse, further away from the one she loves the most. This was going to be complicated. She hugged the photo, and the tears streamed down her face. This was the beginning of a new life though. The beginning of a new life, new future and here she would make more friends. She started to think of the positives as she got further away from Sydney, the place she calls home. 


This was a new beginning for a torn Natalia. The beginning of a new life for the two weeks and it was going to be great.
