Intro

Warning: violence and swearing

You were laying in your so called room on your mattress shivering violently. It was freezing cold that night and the thin blanket did little to nothing to help keeping you warm. If only you could use your magic but you don't want to suffer the punishment that awaits you if your mother finds that out. Once you healed the wounds you got from her with your magic and when she found that out she hurt you even worse than before telling you to never do that again. 

Your mother always told you, you were a freak, a monster and you should be grateful that she didn't throw you out like everyone else would have done. She gave you clothing (rags might I add), fed you (leftovers from her meals) and gave you your own room (in the basement with a single broken closet and an old mattress as a bed).

You sighed curling up more in hopes of getting a little warmth and cuddling your stuffed dragon. Just as you were starting to fall asleep did you hear footsteps above. Suddenly wide awake you laid there hoping your mother would ignore your existence. Sometimes when she came back home she didn't bother going to her 5 year old daughter and went straight to bed or she would just take a look in your room before muttering something and leaving. But most of the time you weren't so lucky...

Just then an angry voice is heard. "(Y/N)"

In a moment of panic you were immediately up and quickly ran into the closet to hide from your raging mother hoping that the old broken toys and the few dirty clothes were enough to keep her from finding you.

A few minutes later your door is thrown open and she enters the room. "Where are you, you little freak?! If you think you can hide from me you are wrong! I will find you, you disgusting monster and once I do you will regret it!"

You whimpered very quietly praying she wouldn't find you in here. Closing your eyes tightly you sat there hearing your mothers angry voice and the noises from her searching. After a few minutes her footsteps were coming closer to your hiding place and you tried to make yourself even smaller shaking from fear. The closet door opened and you heard your mother say "Found you!" before she grabbed you and threw you out of the closet onto the cold, hard floor. 

You hit your elbow on the bedpost and cried out in pain with tears in your (e/c) eyes. Your mother was standing behind you staring at you with disgust and anger. "You little bitch, how dare you to hide from me?!" She came closer and started to kick your already aching body. "I always knew you are nothing but trouble! It already started when you weren't even born and your father left me because I was pregnant! I should have done the same and get rid of you back then! I wish you WOULDN'T EXIST!!!"

Heavily breathing she stopped speaking and kicking the crying and hurting you. She threw you one last look full of hatred and left. You laid a few more minutes on the floor whimpering and shaking. That was the worst beating you have gotten so far and you knew it would only get worse if you stayed there. Thinking about what she said you came to a decision. You struggled to stand up but eventually managed to do so and sat down on the mattress. This time you used your magic to heal as many wounds as possible with your weak condition, grabbed your stuffed dragon (d/n) and went to the door. You walked as quietly as you could up the stairs and looked around in case she was nearby. When you didn't see or hear anyone you rushed to the front door quickly trying to not make any sounds. Once there you opened it, went out and closed the door before running away into the nearby forest hugging (d/n) tighter to your form. 

You once heard behind this forest would be a city and you were sure no matter what awaits you there it would be better than staying with her. What you didn't put into consideration was that it is nighttime, freezing cold and all you were wearing were a shirt which was torn and too big for you and a skirt which was in the same condition though it was more your size. Additionally you were scared and weak but still you continued on to get to your destination. After some time of aimlessly walking around in the dark forest shivering and coughing you finally saw some kind of light. You ran towards it as fast as your short legs can and got out of the forest without encountering any dangers luckily. With a very small smile you rushed over the grass towards the city and went into it. There you looked around and stared at all the buildings in amazement. You have never seen anything like this before! After some wandering around you felt very tired and searched for a spot to stay for the rest of the night. You found an abandoned looking alley and decided to rest there. You were too sleepy now to continue searching and the bruises you couldn't heal like you elbow were starting to hurt. Getting down on the ground you used the stuffed dragon as a pillow and fell asleep pretty quickly due to exhaustion...
