The sadness had come too soon

Scar’s P.O.V

Wonder-filled my eyes as I stared up at the large male. His eyes glinted with a look of insanity. Looking of muddy water, merky yet beautiful. I kept my eyes locked with his, and I think he noticed due to the face a wicked smile grew on his lips. Face twisting in ways of insanity. Shivering, I hopped down from his large arms, but the second I had escaped his grasp, he gripped my hood. Now I hung from his hand, swaying slightly. Turning my head, I peered at him with a hateful glare. He just smiled at me, with a sweet look. I felt a small feeling of warmth in my heart when he showed that pure looking smile. I spin my head back around, looking away from him now. I could feel his gaze now studying me with disappointment. Even though I knew, I didn't dare to turn my head. He chuckled hollowly, a feeling of fear filling my little body. I gulped.
Feeling his hand her over my head, I panicked and instantly turned into human form. It looks similar to my normal form. I had wavy, brown hair with a light tint of red, and streaks of blonde. A beautiful mix of colors. It was thick and flowed nicely in the wind. I had the same nice blue eyes, one of the sky and ocean. Now they held a light tint of grey. Looking more sorrowful. My pale white skin glinting in the sunlight. My slender body seemed just right. With nice curves, expect around the hip area. I wore a similar outfit as well. It was just a bit riskier. It was a cyan blue tank top that went down to right above my belly button, and a pair of light blue jeans, that were ripped and torn. The jacket hanging from my shoulder, and the hood laying on my head. Wearing white knee highs with a few light blue snowflakes on the top, to keep me warmer. And finally, a pair of pale blue and white boots, with white fluff at the ends.
I stood, staring at the guy who called himself Nahuel. Crossing my slim arms over my chest. Tilting slightly to the right in a sassy manner. As I did this, I realized that I was still much smaller than the male, causing me to scoff.
“So, what actually do you want?” I asked him with a slight frown. He seemed to be scanning all my body with a look of awe, then smiled more.
“You know, you're pretty beautiful,” he said, chuckling a bit for some reason. My face started to heat, as a faint pink color ran across my cheeks. “Oh, and I already told you. I want you.” He said with that same calm tone as before. For some reason, I blushed more, my face saturating. I scoffed again to hide my embarrassment.
“Okay, then let me rephrase that. Why me?” I questioned, slightly curious to hear his answer. He took one step forward to me. Looming over me, smirking.
“I want you, cause you're special. Different from the rest. You made me feel something, I haven't felt before. I wanna keep feeling it.” he told me with bare honesty. It surprised me when I heard him say that. I had never heard someone so honestly tell me things like this. At that moment, it seemed he was special too. My heart skipped a beat at that moment, and I swiftly turned before around. My face burning and beat red. This feeling was very new. Maybe, I felt the same as he did.

   Nahuel’s P.O.V.

I gazed at the small girl, with a look of joy. She seemed to be embarrassed by what I said, which for some reason made me happier. I let out a teasing chuckle, love still in my voice, of course.
“Embarrassed?” I teased, poking her back lightly. I saw her balling her hand into a tight fist. I wasn't sure if it was from anger, frustration, or embarrassment. No matter what though, it was cute.
I was about to say something else until a Palico, seeming to be a baby based off its size, stepped out from under her hood. It glared at me, and stood like Scar was before. It had a black and white coat, its stomach, face, and paws having white fur on them. The rest being black. It had very dark brown eyes, that almost looked almost dead, yet held a fury inside them. As stated, it was probably the size of a baby Palico. Little everything. It wore nothing and was completely exposed. Expect for a red ribbon that was tied around its neck like a collar.
“And who might you be?” I asked the baby Palico, unsure what it was doing.
“This girl here is mine! I claimed her way before you, so back off.” she snarled, causing me to twitch a bit. I meant what I said. I would do anything I had to so I could make her mine. Only mine.
I raised my hand, my sharp claws showing themselves as I stared at the baby. It started right back at me. I didn't think it understood what fate it would come to. Twitching one more time, I was about to swing when suddenly, Scar turned back around. She swiftly grabbed the baby Palico and hissed at me.
“DON'T HURT HER!!” She shouted angrily at me, continuing to hiss at me. My eyes widened a bit at her raw regression when I had almost harmed the baby. Stepping back, I stared at the two. I realized that this baby was precious to her. So I felt glad I didn't hurt the little thing. Or I would have lost my little kitten. I bowed down a bit her too.
“I'm sorry…” I apologized, feeling a slight bit of remorse for my foolish actions. I heard Scar sigh, then looked up to see a faint smile on her face.
“You're such a dork.” She said, causing me to grin. Maybe she had started to grow closer to me. That made me so happy, words couldn't even express.
Lifting my head up more, I noticed that the sun was setting. Grabbing Scar’s hand, I dragged her away to a small cave. That would be where we would be sleeping for a very long time. I heard the baby scoff, just the same way Scar did, and I smiled a bit at how similar they were. Once we arrived inside the cave, I sat down. Not letting go of her arm. She looked at me, they also sat down on the ground. I smiled again.
“So, what's you and this little one's relationship?” I asked curiously. They both looked at each other when I asked, then back at me.
“Like siblings. I and Maggie have been together for years now. We practically grew up together.” Scar explained, the baby nodding after she had spoken. I tilted my head.
“Maggie?” I questioned, not sure who that was. Then Scar pointed to the baby.
“This little thing. I thought it was pretty obvious.” She said, rolling her eyes slightly. Cracking the back of my head, I nodded.
“Yeah, it would have been..” I stopped and continued the rest in a low mumble. “To a normal person..” I said lowly, Scar not seeming to have heard me due to her reaction. I coughed a bit to make sure I had Scar’s attention fully.
“So, what do you feel about dating?” I asked her, her reaction is choking on air. Maggie jumped down from Scar’s shoulder. Standing in front of me. Staring at me sternly.
“She isn't taken, but.” She paused, looking me up and down, “She chooses wisely.” Maggie told me. I shot her a slight glare, cause I knew what she was hinting at. Then I looked up a bit, seeing Scar’s beautiful figure.
“Is that true?” I asked, causing her to nod in response. Then I nodded back. Thinking about it, saying she chose wisely was probably a good thing. That meant she most likely wouldn't have any pesky ex's I would have to take care of.
Scar yawned suddenly, causing me and Maggie to also let out yawns. We all looked at each other for a moment, then Maggie spoke.
“Let's go to sleep now. Not like we have much else to do,” she stated, bitterly. I rolled my eyes at her, then nodded, agreeing with her. Then I pointed to a corner of the cave.
“There is a mattress, some blankets and such over there. I stole them from people who came by. The mattress I just kind of… found.” I told them. Once I was done I noticed they hadn't even listened to what I said, and were setting up there sleep stuff. I watched Scar get the big things, and Maggie gets the small, light ones. Watching them carry things one by one, just silently staring. Suddenly, Scar tripped on a blanket she had in her hand. I jolted up, sprinting towards her. I dove under her, holding my arms out. I had just the right timing, so I caught her safely in my arms. Her face was now bright red as she looked at me. Not saying a word as she pushed me away and got up.
I chuckled, “Cute.” I muttered quietly to myself. Watching the last of the stuff being brought together.
“All ready!” Scar triumphed at what she had done with a smirk. I grinned and nodded. Scar noticed and smiled at me. I felt my heart dance to an unfamiliar song, my face slightly heating up. Then she plopped down onto the mattress, Maggie flying into the air a bit. After that the two argued a bit over how they would sleep, eventually deciding that they would sleep side by side. They tucked themselves in, pulling the covers over both their small bodies. I stared at them until they were both sound asleep. Once they were, I turned my eyes over to Scar and smiled. Bending over slightly and planting a gentle kiss on her forehead.
“Goodnight my sun kitten,” I spoke softly, tiptoeing away from her. I finally leaned up against the wall. Then slid down it, my eyes still locked on Scar’s figure. Sitting down, I smiled as I closed my eyes. Though things didn't go as planned, I was still happy to have the little kitty.
I thought about that until I fell into a deep slumber.

I awoke to a sound filled with dread and sorrow. A sound like one of a midnight dream. It spoke of denial and pure terror of some event. Though, my eyes had not opened yet. The dreariness still deep within my sleeping body. Eventually, though, my brain couldn't deny the reality of that sound. A feeling of my heart being squeezed was felt, as I slipped more out of a deep slumber. Awakened fully now, I lifted my weak body, in search of the cries. I turned my body only a little, to see the Palico, named Scar, kneeling down on the ground. Staring at her cupped hands. Deep shadows covering something on them. Tears seemed to seep from her eyes uncontrollably. She seemed to have no control over these emotions. I felt that tug at my heart once more, my eyesight getting blurry as I stared at her. Face heating up.
I scooched over to the kitten, sitting in front of her. I carefully crossed my legs and folded my arms onto my lap. Trying to seem open, and available. She seemed to notice my presence and slowly lifted up her small head, whimpers escaping her small lips. Her eyes filling with more salt water as she looked at me. A deep depressing look in her eyes. It held a sadness I hadn't seen yet. My eyes widened, as I wondered what caused this. I twitched, then looked down at her cupped hands. Squinting, I saw the baby Palico from before, laying in her hands.
It lay, peaceful. No steady rising in her chest. Actually, none. It didn't seem to be pulsing or breathing. Its eyes closed, in a manner that made me realize what had happened. I heard Scar mumbled and sputter out the words,
“So she's dead..” her cracking voice said, the sobs worsening after that. I quickly pulled her over, into a tight embrace. Rubbing her back, spewing comforting words into her ear. What else could I do? The sadness had come too soon.

A.n. so this goes out to my doggo. Sad times. But oh well.
Hope you enjoy this.
