Cori looks out the window at the senary passing as one big blur."Should we be worried?" Jane whispers to her wife, noticing that Cori has her headphones on, "She didn't use to be like this." She mutters to herself.
"Jane, she's just upset she had to leave her friends," The African-American woman keeps her eyes on the road, "I know she's your first, and only, child, but she has to be here, you know that."
"I know," Jane sighs heavily.
While her parents are talking, the teenager listens to Revolution For The Undead by The Native Scene Kings; She rubs Sammys' head aimlessly as she daydreams about her life before the move.
She was a party queen; Going out with her friends to college parties - while still in high school -, drinking until she couldn't see or walk straight, smoking bong-rip after bong-rip. The best part was her parents didn't care; as long as she was safe about it, this teen was able to do almost anything.
Cori watches the trees pass as raindrops start to fall on the car, "Fitting." She mutters, slightly amused by the weathers' perfect-timing.
She closes her eyes; she can see Klane pulling up in his white, 4-door 2016 BMW Sedan; the 19-year-old saved for this car for his entire life.
Cori can see Reily wearing her famous party outfit, which is composed of a crop-top of her favorite punk band - The Undead Breathe - skin-tight black skinny jeans with rips under her plump ass and at the knees, she also has her famous combat boots and her studded dog collar. Reily's makeup is dark eyeshadow, eyeliner, and a dark plum lipstick that matches, and complements her white-tan skin tone. Her black hair is tied into a messy bun.
Cori, on the other hand, can see herself wearing her favorite band-shirt that hangs off her left shoulder and stops right above her belly-button ring. The shirt has the band logo with the name Damnation Day in a dripping, blood-red font, her pants of choice are her short-shorts that hardly cover her round butt, she pairs it with fishnet stockings. Her brown hair is slightly teased, so it covers her slim face. Cori's makeup and shoes mimic Reilys'.
Klanes' outfit matches the girls'; band t-shirt, skinny jeans, and teased hair.
The three of them pull off the 'good child' act at school and in public well, but they feel most at home when they're at a graveyard rave or a college party.
Cori is soon pulled back to reality when the car pulls into the driveway.
"Cor," Jane shakes her daughter's leg, "We're here."
Cori opens the door and jumps out with Sammy, ignoring her parents' requests that she talks to them.
She's always had a bit of a rebel side, but now that she has been forced away from her friends, her parents are no longer her parents.
Sammy follows the girl up to her room before he flops on her bed, "I wanna go home." Cori groans as she turns up the music that's already blasting in her ears. Before long, Cori drifts off to sleep with Tyr by her side.
When the sun rises, Cori groans, "Screw this." She mutters, still on California time. Cori rubs her eyes as she gets out of bed and walks downstairs to the kitchen. Sammy follows in his slow-paced morning steps but stops cold in front of the door leading to the attic.
"Watch it, Sam," Cori yawns as something bumps her leg, she doesn't bother looking down thinking its just Sammy, and his early-morning grogginess, he's not a morning dog.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Cori walks to the fridge and grabs a coke and a bacon treat for Sammy, when something bumps into her leg, "Hey, watch it, Sammy." The teen yawns before she cracks the coke open and takes a swig.
