Anna's eyes went wide with terror as Lucas's words sunk in "It's the dark mark. It's his mark." His meaning Voldemort. Most commonly referred to as "you know who". The darkest wizard of all time. Anna had read all about him and shuddered at the thought. "But how?" Anna said quietly looking up from the letter at last. "He's dead. Harry Potter killed him in the battle of hogwarts!" Lucas's eyes were still wide and Anna didn't think she had ever seen him so scared. "We have to report this Anna." Lucas said quietly."For what?" Anna asked sounding both terrified and angry. "So that they can just come after me again?" I don't want to live my life like this Lucas! Always worried that they are going to come after me!"
Lucas's expression looked solemn. "Anna I was only three years old when the battle of hogwarts happened. But it was so awful I remember it like the back of my hand. My parents fought in it. On the wrong side in fact, but I remember sitting in my room. They had left me alone with my sister Elaina and told her to take care of me. Elaina was good though. She had always been good. She left the house and locked me in, told me not to leave my room and ran onto the battlefield. She fought on the right side, against my parents along side the heroes and Harry Potter. She died in that battle." Lucas said wiping a tear from his face. "Oh Lucas." Anna said a tear rolled down her cheek too as she reached out and hugged him. "I'm so sorry. I didn't know."
Lucas let go of Anna and looked her straight in the eyes. "We have to report this Anna. I can't lose you too." Anna didn't say anything but gave a small nod and walked over to her desk to write a note to McGonnagall. She stapled the note with the red ink to the note to McGonnagall for her to see it for herself and turned to Lucas. "How will we send it?" She asked curtly. "We don't have an owl." Lucas gave a small smile although it didn't reach his eyes. "Maybe it's time you open your first Christmas gift from me." He said. Anna grinned like a child as Lucas handed her a cage shaped gift with a few holes poked in the top. She unwrapped it quickly to discover a tiny owl, so small that it could fit in the palm of her hands.
"Oh Lucas!" Anna said. "She's so cute I love her!" Lucas gave a small smile as Anna handed the letter to the tiny owl and told her to bring it to hogwarts. "Thank you so much." Anna said. Lucas gave a small smile in response but she could still see conflict in his eyes. "And Lucas," She started. "Don't worry so much. I'm going to stick around and annoy you for a good long while." She expected him to laugh but his expression falls serious. "How do you know Anna? How do you know that we'll get through this?" Anna sat down on his lap and turned her face so that it was a few mere inches from his. "I have hope." She said."Hey," Anna started. "I think that's what I'll call my owl." Lucas gave a small smile. A real one this time. "Hope?" He asked. "Yes." Anna replied. "I think that'll suit her quite nicely.
