✡️Joslynn's POV✡️

I stared at my surroundings, all I saw were mirrors...dozens and dozens of mirrors. My reflection looked back at me with an confused look. That's when I realized that the images were not me, they just looked at me, their eyes stared into my soul. They laughed evilly as they approached me, they stepped out of the mirrors and stalked towards me like a predator. I backed up, holding out my arms in defense.

"Pathetic." One spat.

"Wh*re." Another hissed.

"You don't deserve to live."

They kept coming closer and I shook my head trying to get out of the nightmare.

"No!" I cried, they grabbed onto my hand. I tried to shake them off and I ran. I ran and ran for what felt like hours, it felt as if I were in a maze and I couldn't get out. I turned a corner and realized it was a dead end. I turned around to run again but the images of me were right there. They again came closer, shouting insults towards me.

"You were the reason mom died."

"You should've hung yourself when you had the chance."

"Joe should've killed you." One of them came forward and grabbed their hand around my neck, I clawed at the hand but it was no use. My body was lifted off the ground and I was slammed against the brick wall.

"Please, stop!" I begged. The oxygen was leaving my lungs and everything was getting dark.

"YOU DON'T DESERVE TO LIVE!" The image shouted, I closed my eyes tightly. The hand released its hold around my neck and I felt my body falling. I expected to land on the ground below me but instead the ground disappeared and I was falling into an endless pit of darkness. Tears spilled as I fell.

"JOSLYNN!" A voice shouted, I shot up so fast I almost fell off the sofa I was on. I looked around and realized I was in Hunter's office. There, in front of me, was Hunter. Worry and concern were evident in his eyes, he held onto me tightly.

"Are you okay?" He asked, his tone was gentle and calming.

"I'm fine." I told him, pushing away his hand. He got the hint and stood up and gave me my space.

"How long have you've been getting nightmares?" He asked, he walked over to his desk and leaned against it.

"It first began last night." I told him. "It's nothing serious."

"Nothing serious?" He almost scoffed. "You were screaming in your sleep as if someone was murdering you."

"Look," I told him with a stern voice as I stood from the sofa. "I'm fine. You don't need to pretend to care."

"I'm truly concerned." He said. I almost smiled at him. "I can't have my worker coming to work tired or fainting on the job."

It's a good thing I didn't smile.

"I have no control over that." I told him.

"I know, that's why I'm appointing a psychiatrist to you and you're going in for a check up later."

"A psychiatrist?" I questioned with an arched eyebrow that said 'are-you-serious?'

"Yes, I'm very serious." He responded and walked past me. "I'm going to talk to someone, stay here and don't touch anything."

"Yes sir." I mumbled. He exited and shut the door behind him.

He's right, I do need help, these nightmares are gonna drive me crazy. What could've triggered them, I've never had any trouble with nightmares. Then why now? Could be it the result of my kidnapping? Being away from everyone who cares about me? Or is it my mind telling me to end my life?

The door opened and I thought Hunter had come back, but instead I saw a woman dressed in a tight red dress which was too tight at her waist and exposed an excessive amount of cleavage. Her look alone told me she wasn't here for a civilized conversation.

"Can I help you, Daisy?" I asked her as she entered the office. She closed the door behind her and gave me a wicked smile.

"No, but you can help yourself and stay away from my man." She came directly in front of me, folding her arms across her chest.

"Your man?" I almost laughed but stopped myself when I saw her serious expression. "Hunter?"

"Well who else would I be talking about?"

"No need to worry." I told her with a small laugh. "Hunter is all yours. I hate his guts."

"Good to know." She smiled. "No hard feelings, it's just there are a lot of women I need to fight off to get Hunter all to myself."

"So you guys aren't official?" I asked her.

"Not yet, but we're very close. If you know what I mean?" She gave me a mischievous smirk which answered my question.

"Got it." I gave her a thumbs up. "Good luck with that and I wish you two the best."

"Thank you." She said. The office door swung opened and Hunter entered with an amused look on his face as he saw us.

"What are you two talking about?" He asked, eyeing Daisy suspiciously.

"Just girl stuff." I answered.

"Yeah, nothing interesting." Daisy added. Hunter raised a questioning eyebrow. "Well, I gotta get back to work."

She brushed past Hunter, lingering close to him. She smiled at him with lust in her eyes, he didn't smile back but I can tell he liked her touch by the way his muscles twitched. She exited the room and left me and Hunter alone.

"So just girl stuff, huh?" He questioned, his smirk told me he knew it was something else.

"Yep, just girl stuff." I repeated with a nod.
